the default voice is not that great but if you click on the icon and go to options you can find more voices and you can even buy some but i dont think it will go to the person that wrote the addon but even with the free 1sif you go down the list for a while you will see the 2nd google options and those are better play with the pitch and speed to get them pretty good i dont have the disposal income to be spending on the paid 1s but the test they show seems to be even better ifyou go that route any way hope this helped have fun every 1

I ran into an issue: additional voices weren’t working in Firefox, even though I really like Amazon Russian (Maxim). Interestingly, everything worked fine in Google Chrome. I managed to fix it by changing the Firefox language to English and reinstalling the extension. After that, the extension’s name changed from Russian text to "Read Aloud: A Text to Speech Voice Reader," and the Google login window, which wouldn’t open before, finally worked—I was able to sign in.

By the way, the link in the Russian version didn’t work, but it might work if you replace %D0%B2%D0%BE%D0%B9%D1%82%D0%B8 with sign in the Russian localization. I don’t need this anymore, but someone else might want to give it a try. Overall, I haven’t found a more convenient TTS tool—this extension is great, but it’s a pity there’s no text highlighting; that would make it even better.

Just tremendous. Once you get over the hump of configuring it (you want to select a piper-based voice) this text to speech reader for web context is simply superior to anything else I have tried.
