Keep the best parts of any AI chat. Pick exactly which messages to copy or export, instead of dumping the whole conversation.

Getting something useful out of a long ChatGPT or Claude conversation is tedious. You scroll up for ages to load older messages, drag-select across code blocks, and paste text that has lost its formatting. Most exporters just dump the entire chat into one file.

AI Chat Exporter opens a panel beside the conversation and lists every message. Tick the ones you want (just your prompts, just the answers, or hand-picked messages) and copy them straight to your clipboard or download them as Markdown, plain text, or JSON.

What you can do

• Pick messages, not the whole chat. Select all, only your prompts, only the AI replies, or individual messages. Click a row to jump to that message in the conversation.
• Load long chats without scrolling. Load more fetches older messages quickly (a very long chat may need a few clicks). Load entire chat does the whole conversation in one go, though it is slower; it keeps everything in order, returns you to where you were, and can be stopped anytime.
• Copy or download in one click. Markdown for notes and docs, plain text for anywhere, JSON for developers. Headings, code blocks, links, and who said what are kept wherever the page provides them.
• Add an intro note. Optionally put a short note at the top of every export (a project name, a prompt template, context for a teammate).
• Keep a private archive. Save chosen conversations on your own device, then search them, pick messages across saved chats, and combine them into one export.
• Stays out of the way. Move, pin, minimize, or close the panel.

Works with

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok (on grok.com or on X). On Google Search AI Mode, click the AI Chat Exporter toolbar button to read the answer.

Private by design

Everything happens in your browser. Conversations are never sent to Desk Anvil or anyone else. There's no account, no analytics, and no ads. Nothing is saved unless you press Save to archive.

On Grok on X and Google Search AI Mode, the extension reads the page only after you click its toolbar button. Full details are in the privacy policy.

Honest limits

• The extension works with the current conversation and chats the user explicitly saves or captures from open tabs. It does not export an account's full conversation library.
• ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Google can change their interfaces; extraction needs live regression against the current pages.
• Images, attachments, PDF, Word, Google Docs, Notion, cloud sync, and automated account backup are not included.
• This is the Firefox version. Firefox for Android is not supported.
