ChatGPT Bulk Delete helps you clean up your ChatGPT history and Library files faster.
What it does:
- Syncs your ChatGPT conversation list into a local browser cache
- Searches chats by keyword or exact word
- Filters by year and, when available, Project chats
- Lets you open any chat in a new tab before deleting it
- Selects multiple chats and deletes them in bulk
- Supports Project chat filtering after chats have been loaded from the ChatGPT Project page
- NEW: Library file cleanup — preview thumbnails, search by filename, select individual files or all matching files, and delete them in batches
- Automatically syncs Library files when opening Library mode, with previews appearing as files load
Why install it:
Deleting chats and files one by one is slow. This extension makes it easier to find old conversations and Library files, review them, and remove them in batches.
Privacy and safety:
- No third-party server
- No analytics or trackers
- Conversation metadata is cached locally in your browser
- Library file information and previews stay in tab memory, without persistent extension-managed caching
- Only talks to ChatGPT/OpenAI endpoints already used by the site
- Confirmation warning before chat deletion, with mandatory confirmation for every Library deletion batch
- Deleted chats and files cannot be restored through the extension
Good to know:
- Works on chatgpt.com
- Deleting chats does not automatically delete Library files — use Library mode to remove those separately
- Includes search, exact chat matching, bulk selection, year filters, and local chat cache controls
- Library thumbnails are loaded on demand; the extension cannot clear copies previously cached by ChatGPT or downloaded separately
