SUMMARY:

Lint and format JavaScript, Python, and HubL directly inside your automation tool's built-in development window, backed by Ruff and Biome.

DETAILS:

Clean up and check your code right inside automation workflows without needing to bounce over to VS Code or any other editor.

Supported environments:
  • Zapier (using Code by Zapier steps for Python and JavaScript)
  • n8n (for JavaScript and Python code blocks on n8n.cloud, n8n.io, or self-hosted instances)
  • Pipedream (JavaScript and Python code actions)
  • Make (JavaScript modules)
  • HubSpot Data Hub (custom Python and JavaScript code blocks)
  • HubSpot Design Manager / CMS (HubL templates featuring HTML/CSS blocks alongside module.js)

Workflow:
  • Launch any code workspace on a compatible service.
  • Trigger formatting using any of these three methods:
  • Click the browser extension toolbar icon for codefmt and choose "format code" to see all lint errors directly in the menu.
  • Use the right-click context menu and choose "Format with codefmt" (pure formatting) or "Fix with codefmt" (formatting, safe lint repairs, and import sorting).
  • Hit Ctrl+Shift+F (or the Mac equivalent) while focused inside the editor.
  • The tool processes your text and updates the editor automatically.
  • A popup notification displays the top 3 lint warnings (prioritizing errors), showing the exact line number, rule violated, and message. Hover to pin the alert, or click/press Esc to dismiss it.

Data Practices & Privacy:
  • Zero tracking, telemetry, cookies, or user accounts required
  • Formatting rules and preferences live exclusively in your local browser storage
  • Submitting code transmits it via HTTPS to codefmt.dev/api/format, where it is handled entirely in RAM and sent back cleaned up. No logs, database records, or third-party sharing occur.
