This was always a MUST until ff57 broke it ... but now it's back for ff57 too
however, right now there are no control options and rather than just the tab colour changing the complete banner area across the top of the page changes colour and becomes very irritating. I've disabled the add-on for now until v32.1 comes along

Colorful tabs just updated, and it is now terrible. If you are on a site and open items in different tabs, the tabs are now all the SAME color--and those tabs remain dark until you click on them, no color at all to differentiate them. Awful. This add-on has gone from very helpful to useless.

I did not know what I was missing -- until it was missing from the updated Firefox. Grateful to get it back. Useful "differentiator" -- if that is a word -- of my favorite tabs, and good looking, too.

Conflicts with Themes. Disappeared when FF was restarted.

Have loved ColorfulTabs for a couple years now & thank you for all your hard work; it has always been a 5-star add-on in my book. The newest update in response to the FireFox57 update has rendered ColorfulTabs unusable for me; because of that, I had to disable it & I gave the update one star (because how else would you know what's happening?!). However, I know it will just be an interim issue since Mr. Sharma has always been extremely responsive to his users' needs & I will certainly change my rating once the bugs are worked out. To other reviewers: please be patient & not so quick to make absolute statements indicating "it used to be good, now it sucks, I quit you"... give the poor guy a chance to work out the bugs... he always does! The problems I am encountering are the same as many others here: can't read the inactive tabs with all of those being colored black. In addition, I have always used the option to make my tabs as small as possible & I miss having that option available. I'll be checking back periodically & plan to reactivate ColorfulTabs after the bugs are worked out. TY!

The new version for FF57 is almost unusuable. Tab titles are hard to read and inactive tabs cannot be read at all. Options for color selection appear like for earlier versions seems to be missing as well

I have used and loved this extension for years. This latest update is awful. Unused tabs are not only impossible to see, their titles are blurred, as are the words in the toolbar. I am going to drop this extension if it isn't fixed. It's unusable as it is now.

Inactive tabs are all of the same color. Please fix that.

This latest update may make me search for an alternative. I don't like the squared off tabs; I don't like that non-active tabs are transparent. It's definitely a downgrade.

Butt ugly violent colors came with the CTabs for FF Quantum update. For example BLACK and PURPLE (neon), can't read titles anymore, no preferences possible, completely useless at this stage. Have been using it for years, will miss it.

Needs far more control. Far too random!

The latest version is pretty much useless. Turns everything but the current tab invisible, including my menu bar. The invisible portions of the header bar suffer from click-throughs so I am repeatedly selecting the window behind it when I try to move the window. Disabling now. too bad.

I always liked colorful tabs very much but the last change is not so good because it only colors the tab in use and not all tabs.

Love this extension but it doesn't work on FF 57 Quantum. Please fix it!

I gave it five stars although it doesn't work right now in FF57, as a token of my appreciation for previous versions of Colorful Tabs. My criticism is aimed at Mozilla for not being cooperative in allowing this add-on to work properly in their latest version. Colorful Tabs isn't merely a pretty addition to the FF interface, it's an essential accessibility enhancement tool for people suffering from various forms of visual impairment, as well as a productivity tool. For the life of me, I can't imagine why Mozilla would choose to ignore the impact and benefits of this wonderful add-on. I'm really tempted to switch over to Chrome over this issue.

I have used this for years and loved it.. but it isnt working on the new quantum 57.. if like me you use the top menus you can not see it. it is totally black with very squished blurry text.. it needs more work. make it like it used to be we only need the tabs colored not the top bar

This add on updates automatically and the latest update REALLY sucks. The only tab I can see is the one I have open, everything else is blacked out. I can't imagine how this could be considered an improvement. I'm really sick and tired of the incessant updates to both color tabs and mozilla. What makes you think I want you to make decisions about how I see MY computer. So far the latest updates on both are nothing I would have chosen. I liked the original ? or was it, that I started using. I am strongly considering not using this browser any longer. It just gets more and more annoying

I have been using Colorful Tabs for about 6 years now and I am so glad they quickly brought themselves back into the new Firefox!!!
