It uses a simple JavaScript one-liner -- well almost one-liner, as I picked it apart. It's held simple, hoping that it's easy to verify it only does, what it says. The script is only called once, when a YouTube Short is opened.
Currently only works if the page is actively called, which is sadly not the case when normally navigating on YouTube. Opening in a new tab or relaoding works -- I am looking for a good solutino to this, though!
