SafeBrowz is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension is designed with privacy in mind from the ground up.

## What We Do NOT Collect
- No personal information (name, email, phone)
- No browsing history
- No cookies or tracking identifiers
- No account registration required
- No analytics or behavioral tracking

## What We Do Process

URLs for security checks: When you visit a website, the URL is checked against:
- Local pattern rules (runs entirely in your browser)
- Google Safe Browsing API (URL hashes sent via k-anonymity)
- PhishTank, URLhaus (domain lookups)
- Our shared cache server (domain only, no personal data)

Page content for AI brand detection (Premium only): When you visit a suspicious site, page content is sent to our AI server for brand impersonation analysis. This is only done when local checks flag the site. Content is not stored.

Passwords (Premium only): Password breach checks use HaveIBeenPwned's k-anonymity API. Only the first 5 characters of the SHA-1 hash are sent. Your actual password never leaves your browser.

Data Storage
All scan results are cached locally in your browser's storage. Nothing is transmitted to our servers except the URL checks described above.

Third-Party Services
We use these security APIs:
- Google Safe Browsing (Google Privacy Policy applies)
- PhishTank (Cisco Privacy Policy applies)
- URLhaus by abuse.ch
- HaveIBeenPwned (Premium only)

Your Rights:
Since we don't collect personal data, there is nothing to export or delete. Uninstall the extension to remove all local data.
