The popup now reads where the page's own player sits on any site, not only on the one it knew. It takes the element that is playing and reads from it what it shows: a running broadcast, or the part of one the site keeps behind its live edge.

On a page whose broadcast keeps such a window, the cast can start from three points: the oldest moment the site still offers, the page's own position, and the live edge. The page's position is offered only while the page sits behind the edge. The casting view keeps the same three controls.

A device your network reaches two ways, through a cast receiver and as a media renderer, is listed once, with a switch to pick which way the cast goes.

Move through a live stream from the TV.

On sites whose live streams keep a window behind the live edge, the cast now carries that window instead of the edge alone. The TV's own progress bar spans it, the remote moves through it, and the popup's three buttons move the cast within it: "Start" goes to the oldest moment the stream still offers, "Position" to where the page's own player is, and "Live" to the edge. Going back to live keeps the window behind you. Each move is a seek of the stream already playing, not a new cast.

Start a cast inside a stream's on-demand version.

Many pages that stream live also serve an on-demand version of the same broadcast. When one is there, the popup offers two ways to start the cast: "From start", or "Position", which begins where the page's own player is sitting.

While the cast runs, three buttons move it: "Start", "Position" and "Live". Each switch keeps the same cast going, so the picture comes back without the cast being set up again.

If the broadcast has already finished, the cast opens in the on-demand version instead of failing against a live edge that is no longer there, and the "Live" button stays hidden, since there is nothing to return to.

Shows the quality menu for DASH sources, pre-computed in the background.
Needs helper 0.5.9 for the DASH features; older helpers behave as before.

Adds a field to cast a stream address you paste directly. Reads the page's video players as a fallback when no stream was detected. Fixes site handling for pages carrying another site's address in their URL.
