This is a really clever app which seems to find "real" video streams and links on any page. It's worked for me for several years and I appreciate the effort they put in to keep it up to date with Firefox and the rest of the web.

Doesn't work. I installed the companion app. I have 300mbit/300mbit connection yet it starts downloading with less than 50k/s and a couple of minutes later just stops.

Völlig unbrauchbar - nur mit Hilfe einer Fremdsoftware lässt sich überhaupt noch ein Video runterladen.
Das hat den Namen Add-on nicht verdient -weil es ja eigenständige Software ist.
Ich frage mich wie Mozilla sowas dulden kann - so geht auch ein Stück Glaubwürdigkeit den Bach hinunter.

Absolutely rubbish software!!! Stay away from this. Need to pay extra even just to save a converted file. Isn't this is what the extension supposedly do?! What's the point of converting the video when I cannot save it...

Really good and helpful!

Video Download Helper is an excellent Firefox extension! While I don't download that many videos, I find it particularly useful for downloading all the linked images on various photography related websites with one easy click.

The only negative item worth mentioning is that even though I paid to register the extension, I am still "nagged" after every so many uses to "donate" to the developer. The purpose of registering was to enjoy the extension's usefulness without repeated nagging.

I teach kids Mandarin and this add on helps me download the songs for my teaching. I enjoyed using it a lot!

The people who are writing bad reviews about this product are computer illiterate, There are different ways how to download the videos. im currently using the regular version , downloading x3 videos simultaneously with no barcode/watermark in .mp4 format.. it so simple. just install the companion app and download the videos , after creating a directory.

Update Dec-2024. Now they SPLAT a huge watermark taking up 1/6 of the screen ruining your download. Why use their tool if it ruins your downloads? Developers are bonkers. They also hassle you for $30.00 to remove this. You can pick other downloaders.
There are firefox add-ons that are not this intrusive and do not require $30.00US to remove. Look elsewhere.
