Bonito "cacho código bidi" en parte superior izquierda durante "todo" el vídeo, ya podía estar un rato como el típico "ripeado por fulano", ni me he molestado en escanearlo.

Otros add-ons hacen lo mismo sin tener que instalar la "co-aplicación" esta, demasiadas complicaciones para el mismo resultado.

So this is basically my response to this that I received from a "developer" in response to my first review:

To answer the question, yes, I considered, that. I rejected it as bad design. The download queue in your "add on" is jenky at best, hard to get to, and fussy as all hell. Firefox has a perfectly good download manager, I'd much rather see stuff there, like it used to be. If you have an issue with the new, but hardly improved Firefox API, then that's between you and Firefox.

Second, yes, I checked the default locations. I'm not quite as stupid as you seem to think. When I said it wasn't there, I meant it. It's not there. I'm not going to go hunting on the disk for a file that may have been created in some random place. If you did and and I caught you doing it, you'd have gotten an entirely different review the first time and you'd have been flagged as abusive.

I continue to search for a solution that works, but it sounds like you need to really embrace the new Firefox API and refactor the program rather than trying to make it work like it used to.

I don't understand why people like this dumbass downloader. It doesn't work worth crap! Half of the videos I've attempted to get are unavailable or they have to go through some stupid app that you have to get. Why don't they just include it into the damn thing? Then, once you get the downloaded video, it has a big, ugly, opaque watermark covering like half of the screen, and the only way to get rid of the thing is by giving them twenty bucks. I'm sorry, but that is not the Firefox vibe. I gave up on Video DownloadHelper when I found the VASTLY superior Ant Movie Downloader. Now, that is a good app that does what it promises and stays free the whole time. And if the developers of VDH respond to my review, that doesn't mean their app is good, just that they employ people to try to convince the public that they are helpful and responsive. In truth, all they are is deceitful parasites. Although, a good point was just made to me: the name is "helper" not "downloader", so it's technically not false advertising. But c'mon, that's just lame. This thing sucks balls.

Its crap now, needs to install 3rd party app; if i'm going to use an app I'l use 4kvideodoenloader.

I have been using it from years, and it used to be a good option. But now they are pushing for the companion app in insane way. Uninstalling it!

Stop pushing the companion app that hard. I just wanted to download a video. I tried 4 options before I found the one that allowed that. There is zero indication of this on that menu. It was literally a 7 second video I was downloading. Why should I install your companion app? That page tells me nothing, the menu doesn't tell me which options will just bring me to that unhelpful page and not "Download video" as they are all labelled, and I do not trust a company that shows dark patterns like that with an app on my computer. I don't write reviews on add-ons. I have used this add-on for about 6? years. Not sure, I can't remember when I install add-ons. Used it a lot when I had poor internet, was incredibly helpful, fond memories even. Uninstalling and not looking back. Do not do these things to users.

This was one of my favorite addons for a long time. Now it won't work unless you install their own software. It's always worked fine without another program. The only reasons I can think that they would do this are deceptive.

It used to work OK. Now I must install another app to use.
I installed the required app.
Still nothing. Completely dead.
I am uninstalling now and will try to find something else.

Sucks - absolutely sucks - want the old version back. Keep getting "bad atom" type errors.
Seriously considering downgrading Firefox to get most add-ons working again

This used to be a top addon that worked flawlessly while now not only I am unable to download anything but i cannot even manage to change the download directory.
Useless like pretty much everything in "new Firefox".

What was once an amazing piece of software is now a smoldering heap of crap. I can't download anything without a 'companion app' that I will NOT download. Uninstalled.

Force to install 3rd party app

Absolute rubbish. Used to work well. Updated to latest versions of everything but still did not work.

Until version 6.3.3 you had the best gallery downloader tool. It found links behind thumbnails and organized everything in folders. If it isn't broken don't fix it. Starting on version 7, you simply removed this feature, for no reason. And also locked behind a companion app functions we previously had in one single app. This version got worse. Please return to the previous level of quality and efficiency
