I'm using VDH since some years on different Linux distributions and I'm very satisfied. Although VDH is having multiple features and settings, its use is intuitive and self-explanatory.

You can choose the directory where the downloads are saved, you can see the download progess, the active downloads in other tabs of your Firefox browser and VDH can convert your offline videos from one format to others. VDH uses the ffmpeg video library for that, so verify that that you have ffmpg installed on your computer, if you want to use that feature.

The streaming capture workes on lots of video platforms. I use VDH for video offline watching and for completing my video collection.

Brilliant! Simple to use; good quality video results. A must for all users of Firefox wishing to download videos. For most sites the operation is pretty seamless - at least on Firefox. Shame you can't donate through Paypal though.
