whyEXT YouTube Subbar adds an extra subscriptions navigation layer on youtube.com to help you move between channels more quickly.

What it does

• Shows a horizontal subscriptions bar based on subscriptions information available in the page.
• Lets you pin channels so favorites stay easy to reach.
• Provides Popup and Options controls for enable/disable, visibility mode, compact layout, and clearing pins.

Visibility modes

• Subscriptions-focused mode: intended for subscription browsing contexts.
• Site-wide mode (YouTube only): attempts to keep the bar available across more YouTube pages. YouTube’s UI changes frequently; some pages may not be a perfect match.

Privacy

• No telemetry, no analytics, and no remote code execution.
• Stores only extension settings locally (for example: enabled state, visibility mode, pinned channel identifiers, compact mode, and small cached avatar URLs to improve rendering).

Permissions (why they exist)

• Access to https://www.youtube.com/*: required to run the content script/CSS only on YouTube.
• Storage: required to remember your preferences and pins locally.

Important notes / limitations

• YouTube is a third-party site with frequent UI updates: features may partially break until the extension is updated.
• This extension is not affiliated with YouTube/Google and does not modify YouTube’s servers—only the local page view in your browser.
