- Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternenvon notleks2411, vor 2 TagenHonestly, it's a good extension to have, and I really appreciate the effort put into it. However, I find it breaks some sites, and I manually have to toggle the filter off which gets very annoying. I can also confirm at the time of writing, it breaks the AI search on Google.
I would consider this an essential extension to have. But be prepared for it to bork some websites which will require manual intervention. - Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternenvon Kurt, vor 3 TagenThis is great! It blocks tracking elements directly!

- Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternenvon Kazillurls, vor 20 TagenThis add-on seems to work (Firefox-ESR 140) but no longer be maintained:
- On Mozilla / Add-ons / ClearURLs
- "Last updated 2 years ago (Feb 5, 2025)"
- "Write us... If have any suggestions or complaints, please contact us on GitHub." (with link to issue list)
- On GitHub / ClearURLs / issue list
- "New issue" cannot be clicked (has no hyperlink) and its tooltip says "Issue creation is restricted in this repository". So, cannot add a new issue on GitHub … Ok, let's search more on GitHub.
- On GitHub / ClearURLs
- "If you have any suggestions or complaints, please create an issue." (with link to GitLab, not GitHub 😫)
- "[…] or email us rules.support (at) clearurls.xyz (this mail will automatically create a new issue in this repo)"
- On GitLab
- GitLab allows to create a free account, but you must give a bank account (but yeah, trust'em, it's free 😏) and a phone number. A no-solution for me.
- An e-mail sent to "rules.support (at) clearurls.xyz" gets a response "A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its recipients after more than 72 hours". Let's try elsewhere, there must be a solution.
- On the homepage (clearurls.xyz)
- "Last update: February 5, 2025"
- No contact page linked. No site map to find where it can be.
Nope, I've run out of solutions.
So basically, good in the current state of the web (2025~6) but as more time passes, the worse this add-on will be. - Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon Azuki, vor 23 Tagenmade logging in via google impossible with error 400 somehow. dont use this

Sometimes you don't mind the things this targets because they are actually necessary for functionality. Good example: When I go to my health insurance web portal, a different company handles the online payment. When I click to pay on web portal, it opens their website, and uses a lot of things ClearURLs auto-cleans to tell that payment site who I am without me needing to explicitly log in, and in fact doesn't have a normal log in method for said site, so I have to turn of ClearURLs... to pay online for my health insurance.
This is far from the only situation I've ran into with this. - Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternenvon Tets6723642, vor 2 Monaten
- Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon Wolfy, vor 2 MonatenFor a while I had some issues with websites, after a while I started checking what was ruining it. I came onto this extension, the reasons I found is that it too aggressively kills script or cookies or whatever a extension fx google.ai relies on (google search engine) The idea behind the extension itself is good but the function and the use i need it for did not help. This extension did mess it up a bit so.

- Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternenvon Mikhail, vor 2 MonatenWorks ok, but it also breaks AI Overview in Google Search.
- Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternenvon Firefox-Benutzer 14676096, vor 2 MonatenIn general I really like this addon, but it caused a memory leak that would eventually use all of my memory and would cause my computer to go unresponsive. I tried disabling addons one by one, and my memory usage upon disabling this addon went from 40GB to around 7GB with many windows open. I'm sure I found some edge case here, but I've had to disable it for now.
