I have been using AVG for over 20 years now. I had a computer with the blue screen of death. I installed a new hard drive and kept the old one as a secondary. I had been using McAfee prior to that. I downloaded the free version of AVG on the new hard drive and the scanned the old hard drive for viruses. AVG found 23 viruses that McAfee had totally missed. I then disconnected the new hard drive and rebooted the old one. It booted up just fine, no more blue screen of death. I have been using AVG ever since and have been very pleased with it. No more blue screens of death since.
