It's a potentially good service with seemingly all the features you'd want in a service like this but they don't always work or are all even present. I find a lot of the time it either won't suggest to unlock the extension when clicking on a login or password field and even the fill in keyboard shortcuts don't work - its been too intermittent to tell if it is only some sites or just a randomly triggered bug. Also very annoying, when I click to fill in a login and password it'll prompt Windows Hello Fingerprint randomly in the background so I have to click on it on the taskbar instead of it showing up in the foreground all the time as it obviously should. I also bought it for the premium features while the Firefox extension doesn't even have the advertised anti-phishing feature yet which is one of the reasons I paid for premium. So, they are advertising features that aren't even available which I think is dishonest which doesn't inspire trust in the company and their practices - it is strange that the supposedly most secure browser seems to be the least supported.

The above poses instant issues when considering the service for tech illiterate people as these problems are deal breakers. I want to set this up for my boomer mother who has been successfully phished several times but the fingerprint in the background bug will definitely make her think it's not there and therefore not working. Also, the non-existent anti-phishing feature advertised for the premium edition literally takes away the reason I would consider paying for a premium account for her.

These are all, however, grievances that could be easily fixed with competent non LLM vibe coding done by a real human being which could easily bump my rating up a star or two and pay for premium for my boomer mother but for now Bitwardem is mediocre at best and I can't recommend paying for premium to anyone and even the free version's bugs may pose problems depending on your tech literacy.

Bitwarden devs: you're close but you have to fix these things before I can recommend the service.

    amazing extension. not 5 stars because of the autofill not working sometimes, other than that, it's amazing. Some good features are free logins across all devices, free payment plan, it doesn't blast you with upgrading. Highly recommend over other managers I've tried such as lastpass, nordpass, dashlane

    It used to work well, but within the last couple of days it became much slower. It now says Version 2026.5.0. It is still usable but slow enough to be really annoying.

    Something has happened in the last 1-2 Days, the extension is now completely freezing all of Mozilla and we are being warned to disable the extension. I hope someone at Bitwarden sees all these reviews and figures out what it is, will fix my review when it's fixed, pinky promise.

    Slowed down significantly lately. Even Firefox is reporting that "this extension is slowing us down, want to stop it".

    Can't keep dealing with this extension's issues. There's always a problem with biometrics. Now, there's an issue where, if Bitwarden is running, Firefox starts to freeze/slow down and gives you a banner advising you to stop it to make Firefox faster. Come on. It's always something.

    Finally (after weeks), version 2026.5.0 fixed the bug that the failure of autofill function.
    However, this bug should not have occurred. Perhaps the AI code and incomplete regression testing have affected some originally normal functions

    Out of nowhere this extension has began to cause unresponsiveness within the whole browser. Every time I load a new page, Firefox flags it as the culprit.

    Great service that I've been happily paying for for years, but this is unacceptable and I will not hesitate to switch to a competitor if it's not resolved promptly.

    Finally (after weeks 🙄), version 2026.5.0 fixed the bug that prevented the saving of autofill settings.

    Impossible to log in on a self hosted bitwarden account from the add-on since the lastest update, which makes it basically unusable.

    This add-on began giving a strange error-but-not-really response with Vaultwarden sign-ins for me some weeks ago. Now it’s stopped allowing Vaultwarden sign-ins altogether. Evidently I’ll be accessing Vaultwarden via the browser page from now on. The Bitwarden add-on is dead weight. Removing.

    Пользуюсь более 6 лет. Основные функции выполняет. В последних версиях починили заполнение в не стандартных полях-регистрах (допустим lostfilm.tv).
    P.s в последних обновлениях сломали опцию "убрать контекстное меню" - всегда показывает даже если отключить\включить ;)

    Not really a fan of the new update. The size of the pop-up panel is way bigger for literally no reason (no further info is shown) and the pop-up has a long loading in animation that was not present in previous versions. It is also (for some unknown reason) made more difficult to fill a form on the page, now requiring you to press a tiny "fill" button instead of just clicking on the login you want to fill. There is also a strange bug where as I scroll through my logins the white info-text "Launch Website [Website]" appears in many different locations as I scroll. Terrible update. Will be switching to another service.

    What went wrong with this plugin? For some time now it is so sluggish its not even funny. I can type 4 characters of my password and only first one is being recorded in the UI.
