It kind of works... but it doesn't do what I want. I don't think it's something the creator can fix.

I have the same problem that a user SouthOkanagan reported in 2018, it won't allow URLs like https://www.google.com to be set at the new tab page.

The developer asked "Why would you want to do that ? You can search in the toolbar".

The reason I want to do this is because I **HATE** searching in the address bar at the top of the screen.

I want to have https://www.google.com appear whenever I open a new tab or window. I want the search to be focused in the centre of the screen, where my eyes are looking, not at the top of the screen.

It's crazy that Firefox doesn't have this as an option for new tabs anyway.

This add in is a great idea, but I can't use it for what I want... but that's:

a) Google's fault for not allowing embedding (though I can see why they do that to avoid some kind of "skinning" with keylogging or something

b) Even more so, it's firefox's fault for not having an option in the first place to set a custom URL for new tabs... sigh.

    I suffer from "new tab page randomly stopped working and all you can is to reset totally your fx". This temporarily saved my back and lessened my backhurt, because I made own new tab page, resembling almost 1:1 previous one, but now I can edit it as I want. Too bad Fx suffers from so many bugs and that we can't simply set new tab url via settings. Thanks a lot!

    For whatever reason it won't work with Google.com. Uninstalled faster than I installed this useless garbage...

    It fully achieves the goal of changing the new tab page and properly clearing the address bar. It is the best extension for faithfully fulfilling this purpose.

    This extension allowed me to switch from Chrome to Firefox since I've been using a Start.me page for a very long time and I needed the address bar to be empty when a new tab is opened.
    Custom New Tab Page does the job flawlessly. An iframe is no problem for me since all links are opened in new tabs. Or you can just middle click them, you know.

    Does exactly what I want it to do, I use this to make a "spacer" tab with my vertical tabs (since I have so many...), and I can set the title of the new tab to be a nice, visual "—————" instead of "about:newtab", which makes browsing through my long list of tabs much easier! Plus, the author's website at zen.mint.as looks super professional and works extremely well as a new tab page!

    Thanks this works. if someone is seeing an error about X-Frame, dont forget to go to the extension settings and enable "Remove Iframe header" option

    Okay for the feature, but changing the theme hard crashes the browser. Just cut the functionality, it's not needed but killing off potential work is just a disaster of an extension.

    Firefox can't open this page

    To protect your security, ..... doesn't allow Firefox to show the page if another website has embedded it. To view this page, you must open it in a new window.
