Started using my subscription payments to fund a fascist's pet project

I moved my passwords to another password manager directly in response to 1Password donating $300,000 USD to a Linux distro run by a right wing nut job, and you can too. Also, my new password manager is free.

Used to be a loyal user, but funding ethnic cleansing is a deal-breaker for me.

1Password has pledged 300k to DHH's foundation, Omarchy, and DHH advocates for racial purity and violence. 1Password has doubled-down and tried to claim they don't support DHH's views, but funding his foundation is the same thing, realistically.

It's a shame and a heartbreak. I've used 1Password since 2009 but I'll use it no longer. Put your money where your mouth is.

The developers actively support ethnic cleansing. Pick a different password manager.

Funding DHH is a bad look.

Full of annoying paper cuts that they never fix (notably on form filling) and they use your money to support fascism.

I liked 1Password fine until I found out they directly gave $300,000 to a guy whose main thing these days is "loudly calling for ethnic cleansing." And just in time, I got a little prompt in the extension to leave a review! Guess it's time to try KeePass.

Does not work with containers. This is a basic Ffx function. 1Pwd will only open vault links in the categorized container. The correct tab container can be open, but 1Pwd opens a new non-container tab. It's like they don't even try... It's better than the ext on Safari, but still a fail. It's like they don't care at all.

1Password committed $300,000 to Omacom, an org created by a man who goes by DHH. DHH encourages the ethnic cleansing of London of minorities and of all Europe of the Romani people right on his personal blog for all the world to see. He created Omacom specifically to weasel those _disgusting_ ideals and opinions into the Linux world under the guise of an """"apolitical"""" tech org. And 1Password is financially backing it.

Just as I was opening the 1Password extension to figure out how to migrate elsewhere and cancel my family subscription, I was greeted with a popup asking me to leave a review. Here it is: fuck DHH, fuck Omarchy, fuck Omacom, and fuck 1Password.

Would be awesome if its autocomplete works consistently on mobile devices, or if we have an independent keyboard (just like 1password6).

1Password does several things well, especially in Google Chrome. However, in Firefox, the 1Password experience is genuinely problematic and highly unreliable.

The most serious issue is that it does not work properly with HTTP Basic Authentication pop-up login windows. In Firefox, I often have to click multiple times and even navigate back in the browser before eventually receiving a different error message, after which the login may finally work. This issue does not occur in Google Chrome.

This has been going on for months. I pay for an expensive subscription, but I do not expect to renew it unless this problem is properly resolved. For my work, I use a very large number of HTTP Basic Authentication links with login pop-ups, and this simply has to function correctly. At the moment, I am forced to click repeatedly or switch to Google Chrome just to get basic functionality.

Support from 1Password has also been extremely slow. It often takes several days to receive a response, which is very disappointing.

My subscription runs until November 2026, but I am already considering alternatives. That is unfortunate, because 1Password does many things very well. However, when it comes to Firefox, the overall experience has been a major disappointment. Judging by the large number of negative comments here, I am clearly not the only one experiencing this.

Sidenote: also the 1Password application for Android phone has issues; it reports 9 out of 10 times, that it has no connection, so all passwords I am adding, do not show up on my desktop. #fail #1password

The plugin is significantly slowing my browser, tested my suspicions on a browser benchmark site and speed score went from 8 with the plugin on and 30 with it disabled (nothing else changed)

Crap application, intrusive, pop ups all the time. Obscure ways to configure, tries to be "intelligent" but of course is not and then hides its internal "guessed" configuration, much less flexible and customizable than Keepass.
When imposed by companies, have to use it, else avoid like hell ! (and do not use it for personal side, your data is on a cloud and a company which is not trustable !)

If you already have 1password account, that has some kind of order, this extension will ruin the order you created by duplicating records you created with records called "Sign in" or something.

Nul. Intrusif au possible. Je dois utiliser 1Password car mon entreprise l'impose... mais KeePass est largement plus adapté. On a sans arrêt des popup au cours de la navigation. Dommage, les options qui auraient pu être intéressantes pour être moins pollué ne sont pas paramétrables. Insupportable. Désinstallé direct.

1password is great, but this extension - omg.
This is true for all extensions actually, including mobile.
It will just assume that you want to use 1password for everyfield: name? age? postcode? etc... the 1password autocomplete will hijack, hide buttons, misbehave when arrows are being pressed for the default/browser values, etc...
It's the most annoying thing - you have to chose: have a good password completion experience and a terrible for everything else form related? Or the inverse?

I had to change password manager because of lastpass not being able to prevent a data breach every other week so i opted for 1password!
I regret the day i chose this slopy mess! 1password is comically bad in everything it does

This addon just never works. Constantly being taken to the website to log in for some reason. I don't want a session open to my password manager in my browser. This extension should integrate with the desktop app...not the website. That is how it used to work, if the desktop app was unlocked...the extension worked. Poor browser addon is going to convince me to leave this trash behind...
