I guess they were listening to my original reply - they just pushed 2 updates very quickly, hooray.

I've fixed all these issues in my local version but it's been taking almost a month for the Firefox team to approve my updates - whereas in Chrome it takes 30 minutes!

I'll have to refer you to the Chrome extension until they approve the update. Just to give you an idea the Chrome extension is already 10 versions into the future https://jasonsavard.com/wiki/Checker_Plus_for_Gmail_changelog
I've had to reduce the compatibility back to Firefox 52 please don't rate me on this but rather the Firefox approval process.

In box appears, but as soon as you enter an email this message pops up.

It seems the recently updated extension no longer supports the Firefox ESR channel for older PCs that can't run Windows 10/11.
The extension was working fine until 7th April 2026, then on that day a new version installed automatically, and now it's just a mass of error messages ... all of them in a bold white font on a bright red background.
The messages rapidly accumulate down the screen, over the top of emails, rendering the extension near-useless. - Rated 1 out of 5by VV, 2 months agoDecided to 'update' it to disable any interaction with emails when it's incessantly requesting relogin... well, if you're so desperate for 1/5 stars, here it is...
