posted 35 minutes agoNothing in the extension changed - it’s open-source, so you can verify that yourself. What changed is how Mozilla labels privacy-related permissions.
The extension only uses an anonymous, randomly generated ID, and the id of the video that you liked/disliked.
• YouTube access - needed to read the current video ID and show its dislike count.
• RYD API access - needed for API requests and diagnostics.
• Online/activity data - viewing, liking, or disliking videos.
• Personally identifiable information - RYD’s random private user ID used to count votes, not your real identity.
• Website content - mainly the video ID.
The new labels sound scary, but they describe the same data the extension has always used. - Rated 5 out of 5by A., 41 minutes agoGIving 5 stars to support the dev(s) from the braindeads that can't read code and come to b*tch here about new permissions. This update is due to Mozilla. Keepa extension had the same update. Stop crying for things you don't understand. RYD is open-source, so it's even less shady than Keepa.

•Developer is spying❗❓ Because the new (7 September 2026) data collection requirements are a dangerous agreement.
Previously, only the following was required:
•Access to your data for websites in the youtube.com domain
•Access to your data for returnyoutubedislikeapi.com
Now the developer wants to know far too much about you❗
⚠ Data collection required, according to the developer:
•Online activity
•Personally identifiable information
•Activity on websites
•Website contentDeveloper response

- Rated 2 out of 5by Jordan, 16 days agoWas working as intended. Then all of a sudden some of my youtube videos started having disgusting buffering issues (similar to when you have 2mbps internet), and refusing to buffer unless the video was paused. EXTREMELY annoying. Disabled this addon, and the problem was sorted. Fix this please. Once this issue is resolved i'll be more than happy to update with 5 stars.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Rynn21, 21 days agoIt worked up till about a month ago. Now, the dislike button is broken. You can't see if you've disliked a video or not, and there's no number or thumbs down count.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 20101349, 24 days agoCompletely broken. No dislike icon, so you can't tell if you disliked a video already, and the count is in prose ("one thousand and twenty..." instead of "1023"), which is so long it won't fit in the button and gets cropped, so you can't read the count either
