by ninja404, 6 years agoEvery single time I restart Firefox, the page for the first run is always shown in a new tab. It gets worse, all of my rules for blocking ads are gone and no new ones can be made because they disappear when I restart Firefox. Also, I have the rules in a text file back when I used to be able to have more control over editing them, but it's changed so much that it is nothing like what it use to be.

Other ad blockers have enough common sense not to CAUSE THEIR OWN POP-UP ADS. When good ad blockers like uBlock Origin update, they do it quietly without bothering the user. The people at ABP thought you wouldn't mind annoying adverts if it was from them. Advertising to me a product I already have installed is a sure sign these people do not respect users time.

posted a month agoWe appreciate your feedback. We use a system called smart allowlisting: if you do not visit a website that you have allowlisted within 7 days, it gets automatically removed from your allowlisted websites. If you visit it in 7 days, it will get renewed for another 7 days.

Nor on Yahoo.com. at least not on my computer.
