1) I keep getting ["Error saving — please copy your work to a safe place."] ... now this doesn't effect me since I only use this as a testing zone but it could become a problem later on if I do use it for actual documents.
2) This isn't really a big deal but I can barely hear the typewriter sound effects! D:
Okay now the reasons why I LOVE this add-on:
I was literally just looking for a markdown editor but as an extension, and for some reason I couldn't find one — until now!! Love it. The UI is great. The UX is intuitive. The cheat sheet is so helpful. Idk if this is universal to Firefox or the add-on itself but I'm so grateful clicking the icon opens in a new tab haha. .. I don't have any real problems with it since it satisfies my needs (again I just needed a wysiwyg testing zone), so all the other features are a plus for me especially the "chaos" ones :DDeveloper response
posted 7 hours agoHi pzdw, this review genuinely made my day. Thank you.
Taking your two issues seriously first, because they deserve it:
1) That saving error is real, and I would like to get to the bottom of it. The message means Firefox actually refused to write your document, and it exists because the app used to fail quietly, which is far worse. Two things worth checking on your side: whether Firefox is set to delete cookies and site data when it closes, and whether you are working in a private window.
Both can block or wipe extension storage. The latest version also asks for unlimited local storage, so a full quota is much less likely to be the culprit now. If it keeps happening, please email hello@coffeeandfun.com and I will dig into it properly, because you are right that this matters a lot more once real documents are involved.
2) You are completely right about the typewriter sounds. Each keystroke is a very short, quiet tick, deliberately, so it does not become maddening after ten minutes. But "barely audible" is not the goal either, so a volume control is going on the list.
Thank you for saying it.
Now the nice part. Clicking the icon opening a full tab is the add-on's doing rather than Firefox's: a markdown editor squeezed into a tiny popup felt wrong, so it gets a whole tab to itself. And if you enjoy the chaos features, there is more in that drawer than you may have found, including a pixel cat who wanders around the screen.
The newest version also adds math equations, diagrams, version history and find and replace, none of which will help you test markdown, but the cat might.
Thank you,
