by Big Keith, a year agoThis is a really helpful app. Until it stops working every few weeks. I have a block list of 200 sites and when it works, they do not show up.
I mostly use DuckDuckGo as my search engine in Firefox. I used to use StartPage mainly, these days just occasionally. I get the same problems whatever search engine I use.
Very often, the option to block the site is not appearing under the search results on my phone. But it still blocks those I have added in the past.
When uBlacklist stops working, when you open a second tab it will only block websites in the first tab. Pretty unhelpful...
Even worse, like now, it is not blocking anything and the option to block the site is not there. I have removed, restarted Firefox and re-added, no difference. Remove, reboot, readd, no difference.
It is a mystery how the basic functionality of the app can be so flakey. Whatever is going on with the coding, either in Firefox updates or uBlacklist updates, it breaks and functions are lost.
But when it works, I love it. Just wish it worked more often...

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18205130, a month agoUPD 4: I've erased my entire list of what I've blocked over the past 2-3 years. You really deserve 1 star. Your bastard extension must be removed and destroyed.
UPD 3: It DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE.
UPD 2: Some blocked websites still appear in search results.
UPD 1: THIS ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT WORK IN DDG. Im return to google.
does not remove from the results in the Pictures sections, etc. in the same Google & DuckDuckGo. Please fix it, i like your addon.
Thanks for SERPINFO feature, finally on other search working (uBlacklist stopped removing certain sites from the search results that I want to avoid with all my might, for example abc.site.com I write it down as *:/abc.site.com /* and *:/*.site.com/*)
Please fix it and i put 5 stars. - Rated 5 out of 5by kazerniel, 2 months agoAbsolutely vital to avoid getting inundated with garbage search results.
- Rated 4 out of 5by MaybeAnElf, 2 months agoIt's really useful but unfortunately there is a button at the top of the search results page which lets you "show blocked results". This kind of defeats the purpose really. There is an option in settings which supposedly hides it but it doesn't work. I'm on firefox mobile so no easy way to fix it. So minus one star for that. Otherwise very good, no issues.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Shajirr, 2 months agoHides search results from a variety of engines, has an inline block option, can show blocked websites via a toggle, can use subscription lists - so it has pretty much everything you would want
- Rated 5 out of 5by Marcelo, 2 months agoIf you're trying to use uBlacklist on Google and it's not working, log in to your Google account. I was doing searches without being logged in and it wasn't working. When I logged in, it started working perfectly again. The extension is great.
Se você estiver tentando usar o uBlacklist no Google e não estiver funcionando, faça login na sua conta do Google. Eu estava fazendo buscas sem estar logado e não estava funcionando. Quando fiz login, voltou a funcionar perfeitamente. A extensão é ótima. - Rated 5 out of 5by guillermme, 2 months ago

edit: fixed as of 8/10/2026 - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18464912, 2 months ago本当に便利!嫌なサイトや流行りの企業アイコンを利用した偽装詐欺サイトも非表示に出来る。暫く不具合で調子が悪かったが直ぐに修整対応もして貰えて助かった!ありがとうございます!これからもお世話になります。

- Rated 5 out of 5by Hollow, 3 months agoVery good at what it does. I have uBlacklist set to exclude a lot of sloppy/bad/AI sites. You can import lists of sites to block, which is much more convenient than inputting them all line by line. If you want results from a site that you have blocked, you can just click the extension icon and click 'show blocked search results'. Otherwise, the sites I block are completely gone cosmetically.

This is the only extension that can let you search the web like it's 2004
