Privacy policy for Briefed: AI Context Vault
Briefed: AI Context Vault by Nico Danan
Briefed does not collect, transmit, or store any user data.
The extension makes no network requests of any kind. There is no server, no
account, no analytics, no telemetry, and no remote code. Nothing you enter
into Briefed is sent anywhere.
WHAT BRIEFED STORES
Your vault, the context you enter is encrypted with AES-256-GCM and stored
locally using the browser's storage API. The encryption key is derived from
your passphrase using PBKDF2-SHA256 at 600,000 iterations and is never
stored. Briefed cannot read your vault and neither can we, because there is
nowhere for it to be read from.
The only other data stored locally is your license key and trial start date,
kept in the same local storage.
WHAT WE RECEIVE
Nothing. We have no way to receive anything.
If you contact us at hello@briefed.fyi, we will have whatever you put in that
email. That is the only channel by which we could learn anything about you.
DATA YOU EXPORT
Briefed can export your vault as an encrypted file for backup. Once exported,
that file is yours to handle. It remains encrypted with your passphrase, but
where you store or send it is outside our control.
THIRD PARTIES
None. The extension links to Gumroad for purchase, which opens in a normal
browser tab and is governed by Gumroad's own privacy policy. Briefed itself
transmits nothing to Gumroad or anyone else.
CHANGES
If this policy ever changes, it will be because the product changed. Any
version that collects data would say so in its install permissions, which
Firefox displays before you install.
