by Firefox user 13497118, 8 years agoMetamask does what it says but it's annoying and painful to use. Especially trying to log into your account. Metamask recommends that you log out of your wallet when your not using it which is good advice as you don't want to tell everyone how much you have. However, it virtually impossible to log back into your account with a simple cut and paste of your 12 secret words and passwords. Let me explain...
First you copy your 12 secret words to paste into the box. However, as soon as you click anywhere else to paste your password, the metamask window disappears. When you open it again, it's asking for the 12 secret words again. So, your only option is to paste in either the secret words or your password, not both. One of them has to be done manually to keep the window open. Another frustration I had was when I recovered my wallet after it logs me out is after I had pasted in my 12 words, it asks me to create a new password. Now this is supposed to be a strong, secure password and I like to use at least 12 digits. So I create a new password but as I type it in, all I am seeing is the common security dots so I can't see what I'm typing. This means I can't type it twice like it asks and I can't copy and paste it anywhere. The fact that the Metamask window reverts back to the start whenever I click away from it and have to open it again makes it almost impossible to use conveniently using cut and paste.
One more issue I have with Metamask is, whenever I close my browser, my settings delete history and cache. This means I have to recover my wallet every time I open my browser. It also means I lose all of the account names and have to enter them again.
This is a great app but the user interface is a nightmare and needs to be sorted. Metamask NEEDS to be able to save your settings even if you clear your cache.
I'm giving Metamask a 2 star rating only because it does work once you work out how to enter your information without the ability to cut and paste

This extension is slow, full of bugs (you need to refresh it many times). The pop-up windows and the app page often don't match. For every single operation (like reviewing your wallet or opening a token page) there are a lot of stuttering, connection issues, freezes and so on.
Metamask has become literally trash, even the Android app has the same issues. Also, it has too many spam pop-ups during navigation to convince you to buy its useless services.
Avoid Metamask wallet like the plague. - Rated 1 out of 5by palito, a month agoIt became so bloated that even on a reasonably new computer it takes forever to do basic stuff.
It was a nice addinn, but right now I'm better off without it. - Rated 1 out of 5by Lycoris, 2 months agoI have no idea how it works, but after metamask changed the UI, it becomes garbage. And it will continues loading sth in the background and finally it eat all my memory (FYI, used more than 15GB RAM) and affect my whole PC WTF... BTW I don't even unlock it and it still running in the background.
After I disabled metamask extension, Firefox become normal and as smooth as before. Very disappointed to metamask. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19938696, 2 months ago

- Rated 2 out of 5by Anon, 5 months agoConversions have been made way easier now, and that alone probably deserves 3 stars. However the performance is just so terrible for an app of this magnitude that that deserves no less than a 3 point deduction. It is a problem on both chromium and firefox, i've used both.
I had to uninstall it multiple times because of performance issues for no apparent reason. One time it was using 8GB of ram and the extension was locked and everything, on brave. It would have been using more had there been more than 8GB of ram left available for it to devour. The entire experience is too laggy and unrefined. This isn't something that the devs should ignore. Even worse than the issue with the non-existent 'max' button when sending tokens, this is literally the primary reason i am looking for an alternative more suitable for frequent transactions and daily use, which is probably the 3rd or 4th time ive been in this position now. I return hoping things have improved, only to find that the extension runs the same way it did before, or even worse than it did before - ive experienced that too.
Get the finger out and make it better. If you are profitable now, could you imagine if people actually enjoyed your products.
This industry is just an extension of the financial industry, same crows, similar nest. Greedy fckers. You want more money, so it is beyond me what the hold up could be. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19751516, 5 months agoupdate to 13.4 killed extension with bug An unexpected err ocurred. Which not fixed on update.
New updates made extension MORE BUGGY LESS SECURE AND ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO OPEN IT OFFLINE OR WHEN SOME RPC NOT RESPONDING, there is no more feature switch network and no more possibility to open it offline.
I like old design where everything was simple minimalistic and stable, your updates made it slow and unusable, moreover unfixable crash? I back up everything, but what about others, its not only me according to reviews, and you possibly should receive enough bug reports to start make it better.
MAKE OFFLINE MODE and MAKE IT BLAZING FAST AND STABLE, YOUR FEATURES which cannot be disabled SHOULDNT trigger FATAL ERRORS AND impossibility to check offline wallets details
