by clivejo, a year agoDespite paying for Pass Plus until 4th August 2025, Proton downgraded me to a free account because I subscribed for VPN!! Apparently you can't have two plans on your account unless you sub to the "Unlimited Plan". No, I don't want Drive, Calender, Mail or Wallet, I wanted Pass and VPN. Stinks of Micro$oft behaviour! Been trying to sort it out with support via ticket for 10 days, who just reply with nonsense. Migrating back to BitWarden, so bye bye Proton.
Reply to Proton - "you're free to utilize only the services that you have use of" as long as we pay for the "Unlimited Plan" I paid for Pass Plus up until 4th August 2025 and I am NOT free to use the services I paid for, because Proton took them away from me!! This is greedy and immoral behaviour, like a shop saying the only way for me to purchase 2 t-shirts is to buy a pack of 7! But 5 of the T-shirts I will never use because they are ugly and will NEVER wear them! This is nothing more than Proton engaging in up-selling for greed and profit, not caring about loyal customers, plain and simple!

posted a year agoWe're very sorry to hear that. Note that it is indeed not possible to have two different subscriptions, such as Pass Plus and VPN Plus, active on your Proton account simultaneously. The Proton Unlimited plan gives you access to the premium features of both our Pass and VPN services, as well as the other services that are part of Proton's ecosystem. That said, you're free to utilize only the services that you have use of.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Laurent, 25 minutes agoA solid tool overall, but its usefulness is limited in my case. I have two accounts (personal and work) and there's no way to switch between them directly from the plugin. I have to open the desktop app to do it, which defeats the speed advantage of having a browser extension. Adding account switching to the plugin would make it much more practical for users with multiple accounts.

- Rated 5 out of 5by xradmir1, 3 days agoNot gonna lie, degoogling would have been much harder otherwise - and I cant thank proton enough for providing such quality services for free, with privacy in mind - and without any bloat.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Quitch, 5 days agoAs a paid user of Proton's services, I find this mostly excellent. There are three annoying limitations at this time:
1. It is dependent on password and TOTP rather than supporting passkey authentication to log into the extension.
2. Its SimpleLogin alias notes don't sync to the alias description at SimpleLogin.
3. It won't offer to save credentials after you submit them, only before. So you might save credentials that are rejected. If you don't save them, the list of generated passwords isn't the easiest to discover.Developer response

posted 3 days agoBiometric unlock for the Proton Pass browser extension is on our roadmap for spring/summer. You can find more details at https://proton.me/blog/pass-roadmap-spring-summer-2026. With that in mind, we'd appreciate it if you'd consider giving us a higher rating, as it helps us grow and bring our privacy-first services to more people. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16053546, 6 days ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by M87, 7 days agoGreat extension. My only gripe is the amount of paid for stuff you are locked behind. Otherwise, very useful.

We do not profit off your data, and the only way we maintain our services, as well as make free accounts possible, is through the support of our paying users. This is why we offer paying users access to additional features. Nonetheless, we appreciate your feedback and we have documented it accordingly. - Rated 5 out of 5by Balayat, 8 days ago
