posted 5 years agoReply: In version 6.5 released today, are translations faster for you?
Reply: I believe it seems to be slower because the page is translated in one go. And not while scrolling the page.
I will add the option to use widgets instead of my algorithm.
Original:
This extension emerged this year and is gradually evolving. And it was easy to use for a long time, which version did you use before?
I recently stopped using the Google and Yandex widgets and started using my own algorithm on the pages, and this algorithm sends the texts to Google Or Yandex servers. I did this because some pages were not translated with widgets and to ensure more privacy.
During translation Google inverts some words, it is complicated to implement this in my algorithm, so some words are not in the right position.
About translation speed. Yandex translates slower, check in the settings which translation engine is using. If you are using Google and are slow it may be because the translations are done by (translate.googleapis.com) which is an American server. When the translations used the widget, perhaps it was used a server closer.
I'll add a way to use widgets instead of the new algorithms.

- Rated 4 out of 5by rubytube, 13 hours agoVery useful tool as it can translate dynamically created web pages like YouTube which is great, now I can read all YouTube comments more easer no matter what language, also asian language.
I experienced one issue: when browsing through camera lens models on dpreview.com it changes the formatting on the left side of the list of canon lenses.
It shows 4 lenses per row and the rightmost lense vanishes partially behind text on the right side of the webpage.
Then I have a wish, I would like to work with the deepl.com translator API where you can get a free API key and where the translation quality is better compared to Google.
Whats also missing, to be able to configure the translator in the settings. Currently you can only switch to another translator when viewing a webpage but later on it changes again to the default which is Google.
Please add deepl.com API as translator, make the default translator configurable and please fix the display issue. Then I am happy to give 5-stars.
A really great and useful product many thanks. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17790593, 5 days ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Four Legged LYS, 2 months agoUse this one instead of To Google Translate which provides highly outdated/clunky translations. Plus no opening some kind of separate window or page is required, just a pop-up, yay, and with the function of text-to-speech.
