Adaptive Tab Bar Color by Eason & Yue

by Firefox user 19002459, a year ago- The UI refresh causes Ctrl+TAB to be much slower, due to the "adaptive" behavior
- The Options page has a lot of controls, but no explanation and seemingly no effect.
- I installed this to get a black vertical tab bar, nothing else. There is no option.
The Firefox themes also don't work to get a dark tab bar: they put the page also in dark mode. I just want the vertical tab bar to seemingly merge with the frame of my laptop..
This is good for Linux nerds that keep configurating and never do anything productive with their OS :-P

- Rated 3 out of 5by Kai, 12 hours agoI was skeptical when a recent update required all-site permissions, and it turns out the extension has now been suspended for violating Mozilla's policy. While I'm not sure why the developer made that choice, it is truly unfortunate.
Could they have been unauthorizedly misusing user data? Personally, I don't believe full website access is necessary just to change themes. It actually functioned perfectly well without those privileges in the past.
Either way, it's a pity that we've lost yet another wonderful extension.Developer response
posted 11 hours agoHi, Kai. There is a misunderstanding. Firstly, ATBC was never suspended for violating Mozilla’s policies; instead, I manually deactivated v4.0.3, and the current version is now v4.0.4. ATBC required “full website access” as it was a prerequisite for utilising content scripts. You encountered the permission prompt because I attempted to adopt MV3, which affords users greater control over permissions. Unfortunately, a bug in that version prompted my reversion to MV2. I publish ATBC under my real name, and it collects neither telemetry nor user data. Again, apologies for the confusion. - Rated 1 out of 5by Luz, 17 hours agoWas a good extension, now asks for permission to acess data from all sites, shady.
Do not recommend.Developer response
posted 16 hours agoHi, Luz. Sorry for the frustration. To access the webpage content, ATBC has always required to “access your data for all web sites”. Without it, ATBC could never work. You received the permission prompt because there was a rollback from MV3 to MV2 framework. - Rated 1 out of 5by deadinside, 2 days agoThis was a 5 star extension until the last update. Now, access to your data for all websites is now required by default. Goodbye.

posted 2 days agoHi deadinside, thanks for trying out the add-on! ATBC utilises content script to efficiently extract colour from websites, which unfortunately requires “Access your data for all web sites”. - Rated 5 out of 5by Alfredinik, 2 days agoMolto utile e moderna. Sarebbe bello che firefox avesse un effetto glass come safari.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18899839, 2 days agoNo way this addon needs the permissions it now asks for. Very shady.

posted 2 days agoHi, sorry for the frustration! ATBC, as always, requires “Access your data for all web sites” to be able to use content scripts on websites. v4.0 was an exception due to a mis-configuration. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19970294, 3 days ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by ByronTheBulb, 3 days agoAll of a sudden requires mandatory access to all web data in order to function! Why would an extension for colour would need full access to everything? This is unacceptable. I'm removing this extension!
Developer response
posted 3 days agoHi ByronTheBulb, sorry for the confusion. ATBC needs to read HTML content to extract the appropriate colour for the page. You recently received the permission request because a bug caused ATBC to be downgraded from MV3 to MV2. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17589887, 3 days ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Homar H, 4 days agoThank you for creating this extension; it’s been great so far! However, I’ve noticed that after the 4.0 update, the extension has been lagging significantly more than before, and the color gets stuck in a previous one. I’m not sure if this is just me, but I thought it was important to bring it to your attention.

posted 3 days agoHi, Homar H, thanks for reporting the issue. This should be fixed in v4.0.1 :) - Rated 5 out of 5by SOUMYADEEP, 5 days agoOh my goodness, it’s so good! I wonder why I didn’t discover it sooner.
