- Rated 3 out of 5by SMinato, 10 days agoThis extension caused a critical issue with video playback on certain websites that use CDNs and HTTP Range streaming. After installing it, videos would not load in Firefox in normal mode, showing the error “The media could not be loaded…”, while ads and other content played normally.
In DevTools, media requests returned status 206 (Partial Content), but were marked as “blocked”, indicating that the data stream was being interrupted on the client side. Interestingly, videos worked correctly in Firefox’s private mode, which made the issue harder to diagnose initially.
This behavior suggests that the extension interferes directly with the media playback pipeline (MediaElement/WebAudio), causing conflicts with browser security policies (CORS/ORB) or segmented streaming. After removing the extension, the problem was completely resolved without any changes to browser settings.
Use with caution, as this extension may break video playback on sites that rely on CDN-based streaming or cross-subdomain media delivery. - Rated 3 out of 5by Quiddity, 5 months agoWorks well - when it works. Can reduce frequencies to improve spoken word audio on bad speakers, but does not work with some websites (Discord) and seems to lose the audio device sometimes.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 19255945, 9 months agoIt seems to be good, and then you turn it off, and everything sounds worse. So you think to yourself, "Huh, it must be doing something" - Then you disable the add-in, and everything sounds the same as when it is turned on.
I genuinely cannot tell if this actually improves audio quality or not. Add to it that this actually breaks video functionality on a numerator of different sites that host video content (No, YouTube is not one) - And the downsides of this plugin outweigh the (maybe) benefits. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18576041, 2 years ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by Squidderf, 3 years agoEqualizer itself works pretty well, but I notice that it breaks audio if the video uses separate audio channels, but that's primarily only an issue if you watch streamers.

- Rated 3 out of 5by atomic, 4 years agoGood as an equalizer, but it breaks some websites!
I'm sure many people won't realize this is the reason some videos/music don't play on websites like bandcamp or edpuzzle. I definitely didn't until I went through every extension I had, disabling and testing which one caused it. - Rated 3 out of 5by mooksy, 4 years agoGood. But it breaks video playback on a number of sites so had to disable it.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14635051, 5 years agoIt did break MeWe's playback feature. The icon indicates it is playing back, but the time never moves nor does the audio play. Site works fine with the audio equalizer disabled or removed.
