About this extension
Auto Jimaku Subs helps Japanese learners and anime viewers find, load, clean, display, and sync Japanese subtitle files from Jimaku directly over web video players.

Features:
- Detects anime title and episode information from supported video pages.
- Searches Jimaku using English, romaji, and Japanese title variants.
- Shows a selectable list of possible Jimaku subtitle files.
- Parses SRT, ASS/SSA, and VTT subtitle formats.
- Supports both custom page-overlay subtitles and Firefox native captions.
- Works in normal playback, fullscreen, and Firefox Picture-in-Picture when native captions are enabled.
- Includes timing controls for +/- 0.1s, +/- 0.5s, and +/- 5s.
- Includes line alignment tools for syncing subtitle lines to the current video time.
- Includes best-effort smart auto-sync for subtitle files that start too early or too late.
- Saves subtitle offsets per title, episode, and subtitle file.
- Includes customizable subtitle appearance settings such as font, size, weight, color, outline, shadow, position, width, and background.
- Includes optional hard-sub covering settings for videos with baked-in subtitles.
- Includes subtitle cleanup modes for Japanese-only and mixed-language subtitle files.
- Supports opening the control panel from the in-video button, toolbar icon, right-click menu, or Alt+J shortcut.
- Stores the user’s Jimaku API key locally and includes key testing and clearing controls.

Requirements:
- A Jimaku account/API key is required.
- Subtitle availability depends on Jimaku’s database.
- Subtitle quality, language, and timing depend on the subtitle files available for each anime/episode.
- Auto-sync is best-effort and may still require manual adjustment for files with different cuts, openings, recaps, ads, or unusual timing.
- Picture-in-Picture subtitle support uses Firefox’s native caption handling, so styling may differ slightly from the page overlay.

Unofficial extension. Not affiliated with Jimaku, AniList, Firefox, Mozilla, or anime streaming sites.
