v.0.2.1 Fantastic addon. Have been using for about a week now. Absolutely essential imo. let me tell you HOWMST to use it.
1. So you are installing it. Awesome, great work, do yourself a favor and make sure you add it to the menu toolbar, you dont have to keep it there but just do it this one time at least. Is it a little clicky on your bookmarks toolbar? Like a fat blue B with a X in the middle? Great, you did it. Is it not there? Go screw with your settings until you get that lil guy up there.
2. Don't go directly to twitter yet. You need to DO SOMETHING first.
3. Click on the lil guy. Neat, it's got 8 checkboxes for things you can do. I check the bottom four: I mute instead of block, and don't let it block anyone I follow, or are following me. [I have several of followers, I don't know all their lore.] Sometimes I check the top box, the popup is good, but I also have the console open on the page for Reasons, so I see the notification anyway. It also has a lil thingy at the top that says how many people you've blocked, seems new to me. [mine says 456, I've done about 15,000 this week so it could just be a today thing, i'm not judging, this works great].
3.1 There is now a slider at the bottom of the clicky. You need to interact with this. Set it to 18 seconds. Right now the API limit has been set to something very low, at like 50 blocks/15 minutes. That works out to one block every 18 seconds. The limit is inconsistently applied to servers, and a few are still running at the much higher 250/15 limit. The first time out, let's just stick to the 18 second limit so we can make sure everything works.
4. The BEST way this works is NOT to just unleash it on your feed unless you're absolutely swamped with bluechecks. The BEST way is to:
a. Set it on an Elon Musk post*. You will get thousandS.
b. Set it on like a Tucker Carlson post, or something with similarly high engagement, and mine out the discourse by toxicity.
c. Leave it on passive and read posts as normal. BUT hear me out, let's make sure it works first while this is fresh in your mind.
5. Do you have the ability to make a macro that just holds the spacebar down for like a minute or so at a time? Now's a great time to make that. It's not the end of the world if you can't, this is very much a quality of life thing.
6. Just to make sure it's working, hit like F12, or whatever control brings the firefox console up, ctrl-shift-j for pc I think? Make sure it's scrolled down. Hopefully it's going to get real busy.
7. Try this query in the search field: '-filter:verified filter:blue_verified to:@elonmusk', and hold down the space bar or your macro if you made one. (pgdown misses things sometime). The developer console should be filling up with queue and block texts. That means it's working! You won!
Note A. Sometimes Twitter is going to log, or lock you out of your account. Even though the addon is blocking slowly, you can still run over block limits. This isn't a deficiency of the addon. Sometimes you have to log back in, or do an arkose challenge. It's fine, fix it, find an Andrew Tate tweet and make coffee, everything is fine.
Note B. Don't use Twitter real hard or try blocking from your phone while this is running on your computer, you'll get locked out. Do other things. Touch a grass. Take a Duolingo lesson. Learn about gigantic prehistoric birds. Other things.
**Note D. I use several different filters to populate my blocklist. Because of how things are with Twitter, I can get wildly different results between them, yours will likely vary as well. In addition, I do not always trust that the addon will correctly filter legacy checkmarks out, (Issue #62 in the repository), so I continue to use verified filters. To burn all of someone's reply guys, try something like (((to:elonmusk) until:2023-12-31 since:2023-04-01) -filter:verified filter:blue_verified) filter:replies

- Rated 1 out of 5by Prisoner_Flake, 2 days agoIMPORTANT!!! DANGEROUS!!!!
PLEASE READ!!!
New updates to X (twitter) cause this extension to PERMANENTLY SUSPEND your account for "Inauthentic Behaviours".
Here is an extract from that X policy:
"Unauthorized automation: Automated or scripted accounts that do not comply with our Developer Policy. Please note that as a user you are ultimately responsible for third-party applications you may authorize to access or use your account. "
You can appeal, but without having the knowledge that its this extension causing the suspensions, you will be immediately re-suspended upon opening the website. This has happened to me THREE times now in 10 days, each time the appeal goes through and I am immediately re-suspended & forced to make another appeal.
PLEASE, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS UNLESS ITS BEEN UPDATED!! - Rated 4 out of 5by Daniel_Laixer, 19 days agoIt was working fine yesterday after I installed it on Android, set the interval to 20s and kept browsing. I just installed it on my PC, configured it the same way, and a minute later -I kid you not- I got hit with "Your account, XXXXXXX, was reported and has been suspended for violating the X Rules. Specifically, for: Violating our rules against inauthentic behaviors."
I don't do content farming, account automations or anything related. I don't even have multiple accounts.
I'm speechless; literally and figuratively.
Edit: It may have nothing to do with this add-on. Twitterhelp on Reddit is filled with posts from suspended people. It seems there's been some kind of wrongful banwave. - Rated 5 out of 5by fungus fungus, 2 months agoit was quite helpful accompanying me while i had my manual blocking spree, picking at users i missed. it would be even better if a whitelist was included, or if it supported wildcards (assuming it doesn't) like how i have a phrase but there's something in the middle like "keyword (something) keyword". or if it included the ability to block based on words in the bio
thank you - Rated 3 out of 5by Akela, 3 months agoWorks fine for the most part, but the "Skip blocking retweets from people I follow" setting doesn't work. It still keeps trying to block people who were retweeted by someone I follow.
I'd also like if there was a way to add a whitelist of words that are in people's bios, like "artist" or "developer" since a lot of them pay for premium. - Rated 5 out of 5by That Weird Muffled Quality To The Audio On He-Man, 6 months agoThe best thing to happen to Twitter since the Twitter Lib exodus. Now I don't have to see the chuds either. Good for my mental health.
Others are reporting errors. I think that is Twitter responding to excessive blocking. It will log you out eventually if you set it to block too fast (the default seems to be okay, but I would rather just log back in and deal with the occasional I'm-not-a-bot dance than slow down the culling). Set it to block more slowly and I think you'll see fewer errors.
As for clicking a post and it being insta-blocked, please don't remove that completely! If you make a fix make it optional! Don't tempt me to doubt my resolve, just block the bastards. Also sometimes I will click on a post knowing that it will trigger the block, for the purpose of triggering the block. It's perfect the way it is!
The only problem I would report is that Twitter's bot detection doesn't like it, and there might be further optimization to be made there; but that's going to be a moving target.
A feature I'd like to see added: Block not only users with certain words in their names, but those words in their profiles. That's where they advertise themselves the most. - Rated 1 out of 5by Corgitsuney, 6 months agoUse to work but as other have stated, this seems to have been abandoned. Installing it will give you constant errors and overall seems to not be working fully. Will revert my review once this updates.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19511638, 8 months agoWas great originally, but this extension now seems like it's been abandoned? GitHub is overflowing with error/issue reports, and the extension hasn't received any updates in half a year.
Constantly spams your screen with error popups when loading your dashboard.
Don't recommend installing unless the developer starts updating it again and addressing some of the issues. - Rated 5 out of 5by YoshiAbyss, a year agoIt's incredible and the only reason I can still use twitter. I just wish it would update more frequently. Stops working for weeks on end often.

- Rated 2 out of 5by b____, a year agoWorked great for a while, but recently began blocking accounts I follow despite telling it not to do that. Had to uninstall as a result.

posted a year agoHi, so sorry that you had that problem! We recently updated the addon to fix this issue, which is currently live (v0.4.17) - Rated 3 out of 5by Bryan, a year agoI like it overall. as its a needed feature for twitter since they offered paid exposure and there are so many bots on the website
HOWEVER. it is INSANELY annoying when you click a post and it instantly blocks the person whos post you clicked and kicks you back to your home page leaving you unable to find the post you literally just clicked on.Developer response
posted a year agoHi Bryan, I've gone ahead and created an issue for this on the GitHub. We'll get to work seeing if there's a good way of making the addon not behave like that. - Rated 5 out of 5by Loewi, a year ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by KlooKloo, 2 years agolol, it took long enough for Mozilla to approve this that Twitter died. Great job anyway, team!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Zekken9999, 2 years ago
- Rated 2 out of 5by Anicka dlc, 2 years agoThe Add-on used work great but when Twitter changed the domain to X.com, the developer didn't update it. so it doesn't work on x.com but it does in twitter.com (although it redirects automatically to x if you access via twitter.com)

posted 2 years agoHi the extension has been updated to address the x.com switch, unfortunately we've had all of our updates held up in the Mozilla review process - Rated 1 out of 5by no, 2 years agoHas not worked at all for months, seems they stopped updating the firefox version
