I updated the description with regard to youtube: Youtube seems to regularly update its anti-download measures and one of these changes indeed has broken the plugin's original capability to download videos from that platform. Since there are plenty of other tools available that successfully deal with these updates, you should indeed look elsewhere if you want to download from Youtube.
