It makes subtitles invisible rather than disables them in a proper way. Which is not what is being promised. Useless for me, but if you really don't care for captions in any situation, might be fine for you.

Is there an add on to remove burned in captions?

Hi! This extension is designed to hide YouTube's CC/subtitle tracks, not subtitles that are permanently embedded (burned into) the video itself. Embedded captions are part of the actual video frames, so they cannot be disabled through the browser. Hope that clarifies the intended functionality!

Works great, no more auto captions !!! Genuinely been a nuisance to me for years, was about to make my own extension before I saw this one.
