- Rated 2 out of 5by Anna, a month agoI really like the Proton suite overall.
However, the authentication process for Proton Pass is just... not working properly.
Either:
- I don’t set a separate password for Proton Pass (keep the same password as my Proton account), then Proton Pass extension allows anyone who is logged into my browser to use my passwords without asking first for authentication.
Or:
- I set a specific password for Proton Pass. Then I am asked to first log in to my Proton account with my regular password, and then log in again to Proton Pass with my Proton Pass password. And yet, the extension continues to ask me to “activate Proton Pass” by authenticating... so I’m unable to use my passwords.
This is so confusing. In the first case, why isn’t the extension asking for the Proton password before activation? In the second case, why doesn’t it accept only(!!) the Proton Pass password and start working?
(Thankfully, I have my KeePass manager as a backup.)Developer response
posted a month agoHello! Thank you for your feedback Anna. You could add a PIN to unlock the browser extension if you prefer not to set a separate password for Proton Pass.
After setting an extra password for Proton Pass, the extension will require you to provide your original password and your extra password on the first login, afterwards it should only require the extra password.
Can you please reach out to us at https://proton.me/support/contact so we can help you troubleshoot and clarify further? - Rated 5 out of 5by mmnova, a month ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by tshrt, 2 months agoUsed RoboForm for years and while I'd say it performs better, ProtonPass is catching up in regards to compatibility and what not. I switched because I already pay for Proton stuff and felt silly paying for 2 password managers. I highly recommend Proton for web services(email, VPN, etc).

- Rated 5 out of 5by Fco, 2 months agoUso la versión gratuita de la suite de proton y no he tenido problemas. Me gusta la simpleza de poder buscar una password y copiarla con un click sin tener que realmente visualizarla.
