- Rated 4 out of 5by mike, 2 days agoI like the password generation features. There's also ability to use email aliases if you pay for premium features, but when not paying, it seems it shouldn't offer an email alias (including at times that seem confusing , when just trying to find a password ). So the email alias features seems like a fail for the free version, but a feature if you're going premium. And really, if you don't go premium, you kinda end up with tech bro companies running the world. How's that going for us?
Also, I totally agree with another review I saw that said: "the extension will often ask me if I want to save a username and password for a site when it already has the details for that site... not sure on the cause."
Otherwise, its solid. The UX is smooth but possibly a little too technical for the non-techies in my life. But I suspect still very usable. Although I ended up here today because Mozilla is griping about the extension requires extra permissions... but its unclear what permissions are needed or why. might be a mozilla issue not this extension issue. unclear.
Al that said, I like the number of features and gave it an extra star due to this fact!! Reduced one just so the review might be read. This is the best password manager due to features... but due to that fact, it comes occasional confusion.

That said, as we're constantly working on improving Proton Pass, feel free to contact us at https://proton.me/support/contact with more details about the websites where autosave is being prompted despite already having a login saved, so we can note your feedback for future improvement. Also, we'd be happy to clarify the exact permissions you're referring to. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18057157, 12 days agoIt works great and I love Proton Pass, but it seems there are no keyboard shortcuts like in Chrome so loses a star there because I can't open the extension without navigating to the Extension manually

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 19840062, 20 days agoOverall I really like this extension. Most of the time works flawlessly, greatly assists me in keeping my accounts secure and I like how the Proton ecosystem syncs over my devices. Only small gripe is that the extension will often ask me if I want to save a username and password for a site when it already has the details for that site... not sure on the cause but only a very small annoyance. Highly recommend this, and the other Proton products.

I'm not going back!
What I like:
- In my experience, autofill is much more consistent than other managers (with only a few rare exceptions).
- As a paid user, the "hide-my-email" alias feature is a game-changer, no need for "+ addressing", and the integration with Proton Monitor came handy a few times already.
- The vault is type-rich. I knew the usual (logins, notes, and bank cards, passwords). I though the "Other" category was just for "Misc" entries, but recently discovered it has a lot of dedicated templates (API creds, DB creds, server creds, license keys, SSH keys, Wi-Fi networks, bank account details, crypto wallets, driving licenses, medical info, memberships, passports, loyalty programs, and SSN). It is much more organized than using generic "secure notes" for everything. It feels like an actual wallet.
The only pain point:
- The passkey experience (I'm a big advocate and user of passkeys) but found the implementation to be inconsistent. While the team is helpful, I’ve found that troubleshooting these issues is quite a time-sink for a user. It often requires testing across different browsers, clearing existing keys, and starting with fresh profiles, on various browsers, just to isolate the cause. As much as I want to help improve the tool, the "investigation" process is too tedious so I stopped after a few tickets. I'm hopeful this stabilizes soon so it can be as seamless and great as the rest of the app.
Overall, the extension is great, I definitely recommend it!Developer response

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18149787, 2 months agoThe extension is mostly fine. But I have twice now experienced that I have been logged out and need to log back in (by typing my very long password, which is stored elsewhere). There does not seem to be an easier way to log back in. Also, when being logged out, the settings in the extension also seem to be reset. This may happen when the extension/Firefox is updated.

However, I've given 4 stars, not 5 because the UI can be made a little better.

UI/UX issues which I submitted to the support team. Bad management of the aliases for the backup.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 16229876, 5 months agoMoved to ProtonPass from 1Password as I was already paying for the Proton suite. Overall, behaves decently. There's a few features I miss from 1Password, such as QR code scanning for OTP, and automatically recognizing a website's password requirements (although I prefer Proton's long text slugs, not all websites will accept them), and linking identities together, e.g. OAuth logins, or linking certain accounts to my entries for my YubiKeys. The integration with PassMail is *chef's kiss* though.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Guy Fieri Fox, 5 months agoIt's so nearly perfect.
I've come from Bitwarden and have been enjoying the whole Proton Suite, but Pass is missing 1 feature that i think should be mandatory in any password manager - When generating a password, let me pick a minimum amount required of Numbers and Special characters - With bitwarden i could ask it to make a pass containing at least 10 of each if i wanted.
This would easily be a 5 star if it had feature parityDeveloper response

Also there is no real autofill when the extension is unlocked, always have to select login entry.
