posted 2 hours agoMonetization is needed, among other things, to pay for operating the extension.
Only advanced new features are paid - what you had for free is still free, and will always be free
All other extensions\apps with dislikes are using my API - with the api dying due to lack of funds - all other apps will die as well.
Unfortunately the extension requires quite a large database (~15TB) serivng 20 million unique daily users (chrome is not the only platform) - and it costs money.
The idea behind paid features was also to cover the costs (since donations became smaller than the hosting costs). Without bothering free users too much. Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17670395, 3 days agoI no longer trust the developer after an intrusive advertisement was added. I am going to find another way to view dislikes or none at all.

posted 3 days agoYeah, sorry about that. The changelog tab was supposed to be shown on browser restart - i.e be much less intrusive. - Rated 1 out of 5by Simon, 3 days agoDodgy shenanigans are going on with this extension for Chrome, with pop under adverts for some "premium" scam. Lost all trust in it and the developer, so removing from all browsers on all devices.

posted 3 days agoChrome users just beta tested it for Firefox. Hopefully will go smoother here. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19415682, 2 months agoThere hasn't been a public API for pulling official numbers for years now. These apps just invent fake numbers based on extrapolations from the tiny minority of people that install the apps, which self-selects for a sad, dislike-obsessed population of people, skewing the numbers more negative than they actually are.
- Rated 1 out of 5by GakiGaku, 2 months agoSuddenly stopped working for no reason. Toggling the extension/reinstalling does nothing.
- Rated 1 out of 5by SDM, 3 months agoDoesn't work, constantly glitches and breaks YT. Often shows you removing a dislike when disliking a video. Just flat out doesn't work.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18936765, 5 months agoFinal update: I was pretty gullible in thinking that the downvotes would actually be real. What I've deducted that they're actually just a depiction of what the extension thinks it should be based on even your own vote. Bottom line is the downvotes aren't actually real this extension merely produces a count to fit a narrative based on your own vote. Silly of me to think that a third party app would change something like that on youtube's websites. I do feel pretty had tbh.
I actually think it does work. You have to do some password logging in (to check to see if youtube's just honoring your vote while logged in) and out due to youtube's way of displaying the downvotes, but with this app you can see them regardless if you're logged into yt or not which I later found. So when I logged out, closed browser (cookies deleted) and then opened browser to the same vid - and not logged in....I could see the downvote in-fact had changed. I did this with both downvoting and then clearing the downvote by upvoting and it does seem to register my change in the vote. - Rated 1 out of 5by legang, 5 months agono representa la realidad, refleja la opinión de gente que es mas propensa a usar el dislike (incluyendome).
- Rated 1 out of 5by mber1991, 6 months agoI liked it at first but now knowing it's more or less just a low sample size hallucination turned me off of it entirely. It only aggregates opinions of users that use the plugin.
This of course isn't the plugin's fault as you did your best but ultimately this shouldn't exist at all and should be taken with a tremendous grain of salt - Rated 1 out of 5by bruh, 6 months agocompletely inaccurate and doesn't match with the actual dislike count by magnitudes in many cases
- Rated 1 out of 5by Seraphael, 6 months agoTried this extension several times. Never worked on Firefox.
- Rated 1 out of 5by james_cs, 6 months agoProvides demonstrably incorrect info, and the developer seems to be a thin-skinned child.
