SOPilot — Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 13, 2026

SOPilot uses a local-first architecture. Your recorded steps, screenshots, DOM
target data, and generated guides are stored only in your browser (IndexedDB).
Nothing is uploaded unless you explicitly sign in and start cloud sync.

DATA WE HANDLE
- Website content: screenshots and short element labels of pages you record —
only during a recording you start.
- User activity: the clicks, typed field text, and scrolling of each recorded
step — only during a recording you start.
- Web history: the URL and title of the tabs you record.
- Personally identifiable information: your name, email, and optional
organization — only if you create an account or sign in.
- Authentication: your password is verified by our server and not stored by the
add-on; a session token and any AI key you add are stored locally on your
device.
- Financial/payment: paid Pro/Team plans are processed on our website by our
payment provider (Dodo Payments). The add-on never receives or stores card
numbers.

We do NOT collect health data or location data (no GPS, no IP geolocation).

HOW IT IS USED
Data is used solely to create step-by-step SOPs and to operate optional account
and cloud-sync features you choose to use.

THIRD PARTIES (never for sale of data)
- Dodo Payments — only to process subscription payments.
- OpenAI / Anthropic — only if you enable AI with your own API key; a small text
context is sent to your chosen provider to generate step descriptions.

OUR COMMITMENTS
- We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties outside the approved use
cases needed to provide the service.
- We do not use your data for any purpose unrelated to creating SOPs.
- We do not use your data for creditworthiness or lending.

YOUR RIGHTS
You can export all your data (PDF, DOCX, HTML, Markdown, video) or delete all
local and cloud data at any time.
