by zenci, 4 years agoWhat poor customer service. They offered $4 to download this extension and make a purchase and they declined to pay it when their extension could not track it even though it gave message that it would track and they claim it works. Asking the customer service was of no help.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 19777391, 12 days agoCauses many websites to slow down or stop. One such site is Kohls but there are others. About 25% OF THE TIME IT DOESN'T TRACK PURCHASES AND THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. iF SOMETHING DOESN'T SHOW AS CLICKED (WHICH HAPPENS), YOU CAN'T DISPUTE IT. I have been a loyal user for many years but frankly I lose 100s of dollars a year (yes 100s) in non-tracked cash back.

The extension should not cause sites to slow down or stop working, so the issue you mentioned with Kohl’s (and other sites) is something we’d definitely like to investigate. If you’re open to it, please reach out to me at uscustomercare@topcashback.com with details about your browser version and the sites affected so we can take a closer look.
Regarding tracking, while most purchases track automatically when the retailer confirms the transaction, there can occasionally be cases where tracking doesn’t register correctly. In those situations, our support team can often help submit a missing cashback claim on your behalf if you provide the order details.

Other than the $20 sign-on bonus, I think I've earned maybe a little less than $5.00 - and I do ALL my shopping online. Most of the companies I shop with apparently aren't recognized by topcashback. Instacart was probably my biggest expenditure, spending roughly $300/mo. All topcashback would say is that they weren't "actively pursuing" any transactions involving Instacart. I can't say my experience has been worthless, so the closest I can give is just one star.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Broffrey, 4 years agoAvoid this kind of useless shop-savings extensions that in facts can spy what you are looking on the internet, it's just collecting informations on you to profile you and similar customers to finally target ads/products/services. That's desguished spyware in counterpart to provide you a pretended nice service for free.
And just about the service provided: this kind of extensions (lots of similar exist like this one) can modify the webpages on-the-fly and also can censure some parts or search results to guide you to buy to a specific shop... instead of a concurrent. And guess who is paying the extension editor to do that? Sellers?
Just look at what this extension is requiring at the Permissions part...

Thank you for reaching out and I'm sorry if you were given the wrong information or had a bad experience. However, to address to your first point- we are not using anybody's shopping behavior or any personal information to then use to run better targeted ads, if the consumer has proof of that then they can definitely reach out to us directly and we will comment further, but we are not conducting any spyware type activity via our browser extension. It is a genuine product that helps users to remember use our moneysaving service when shopping online. It has proven to be effective for many of our members when used properly.
To address your second point- We do not use our browser extension or any other technology to modify web pages on the fly to deviate intent and make members buy what we want them to buy instead of allowing people to buy what they wan / what they are after.
