We've just taken over the extension (Lost Rabbit Digital) and shipped our first update in years. Baseline Hover-to-zoom now works for free, with no account and no payment. Pro-only features are clearly labeled in the settings. We're also updating the store description to spell this out up front. Thanks for the honest feedback.

Fair criticism of the old version Dan, thank you. We've taken over Ultra Zoom and just released a major update: the core hover-to-zoom feature is fully free and works on all sites, no subscription required. Pro is now an optional upgrade for site-specific plugins (Instagram, Amazon, etc.) and power features which are clearly marked, not a surprise.
