It's a pity, but recently (for several days), YouTube does not allow this extension to download videos, although everything works fine on other video hosting sites! Therefore, the rating is minimal for now - author, fix it!

The Video DownloadHelper used to work before, but I'm not sure when it stopped. I tried using it recently, but it doesn't show any videos available for download.

Broken. No longer works.

started out S-tier, then youtube added translation audio tracks and the extension couldn't deal with that, then youtube did something else and the extension can't download youtube videos at all. its still maybe C-tier for the things it can do, but not being able to deal with youtube is a huge miss.

THIS ALL CHANGES if the developers can work around these two issues and gets things working again. basically, F you, youtube.

tanj, now it doesn't download the audio track from twitter. going from bad to worse, here.

Paguei pela extensão, mas só vive me deixando na mão. Falha de vez em quando, não baixando os vídeos e, às vezes, volta em alguns dias. Não dá para confiar.

On vimeo, it gives a list of video resolutions to record, but clicking on them does nothing.

On YouTube, it doesn't even detect a video.

I know it's hard to keep up with them keeping up with you, and I don't expect a free downloader to always work. I'm just reporting that this one currently doesn't.

The only relevant platform for this extension: YouTube isnt working anymore. I paid for it! I am pretty mad

This used to be a great app. They ruined it and now they want to charge for it?! Go f*@k yourselves!

Absolut wertlos. Seit Jahren genutzt, aber seit einigen Tagen funktioniert nichts mehr. Findet keine Medien und das Icon bleibt farblos.

(01/21/2025) Addon „Video DownloadHelper“ works a long time properly. Since 3 days it is telling „there is no media detected to work on“ each time I try and even the Youtube video is running fine. Windows (11 23H2), Firefox 134.0.2 (64-Bit) and Video DownloadHelper addon (9.1.2.0). Seems like I’m not the only one having this issue. I’m waiting for a fix.

Since two days the app is greyed out and doesn't work anymore.

I only left 1-star so that other users can see it, I will edit the review later once the issue is fixed.

it shows as installed on my computer but after the latest Firefox update is inactive. Have tried to install it again, no result

this addon sucks, the normal version doesnt work on half of the sites and the beta version does, but when you download something the resulting video has a quarter of it covered with a horrendous qr leading to his page

Do NOT buy this. I paid money for it and it was perfect for downloading YouTube videos. It suddenly stopped working. it finds nothing, NOTHING to download.
Completely stopped working without any explanation.

Work somewhat well on YouTube until a few weeks ago, it started downloading all of the videos in German and I know for sure the people in the video spoke only English. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, reset settings nothing helped. In the U.S.A Was a great free downloader until the end of 2024
