While I appreciate how easy DuckDuckGo makes it to permanently disable AI features in their search engine for users, I find it kinda hilarious that they'd rather release a bunch of "anti-AI" features instead of just removing the AI features entirely, like they should.

Like you BUILT the AI nonsense you're trying to save us from, you don't get to play BOTH sides of the marketing here.

it really is miserable knowing that this makes duckduckgo one of the only search engines that has an opt-in for generative ai rather than an opt-out. this could have (and should have) been made into the default experience for everyone using this search engine.

don't get me wrong, it's great that this is a thing... but this has me worried that duckduckgo won't do more than this to address the problems with an opt-out system.

hopefully, this becomes popular enough that it sends a clear message to duckduckgo and other search engines. i know i don't want to deal with this opt-out nonsense, where it feels like i'm being cuffed to something only to be given the key to free myself whenever i want.

Not working at all. Searching ''art'' and It keeps showing me AI-generated images...

Really glad I can make noai my default search now!!! I do wish there was more it could do to scrub AI generated images from search results, but that's not duckduckgo's problem, the whole internet is poisoned with AI slop now.

Still a ways to go, but a very good start.
I still see quite a lot of obvious ai art when I search for images to use in my dnd campaign, but if we keep reporting them as AI then hopefully soon we can get rid of most

About damn time. If there's a 50/50 chance of being incredibly wrong, then I don't want the AI answer! Give me the ACTUAL results. Not some half-hallucinated summary from a LLM.
