This WORKED like a charm whereas VIDEO DOWNLOAD HELPER was stuck at aggregating.. i thought this was a special protected video. but this extension works. i downloaded SEVERAL other addons and some did not detect at all and others only detected files that are a few KBs for some reason. also vdh wanted to make it mkv without telling it, but this one downloads the original mp4.

This is the best add on I have ever used for this download YouTube purpose. Simple and fast. Downloading is specially useful because interesting videos in YouTube may not be hosted forever.

It asks for donatios to download at 1080p... it also has manipulated ratings, sucks

I cannot recommend this extension more. I've been using it over its several iterations ever since at least 2012, and I can say definitely it's the best video downloader I've ever used. I've tried them all: the free ones, the website ones, pay to use ones, but nothing compares to this extension. A lot of other services that I've used in the past have gone defunct or no longer work for all videos. This is the only program I've ever found that has worked perfectly since I first started using it. Thank you for making this.

The last time I posted a review was 6 years ago. Since them, this extension has undergone a few difficulties. However, I am thrilled that it is now (September 2025) working again! I like its ease of use, variety of choices and no-nonsense method. I have tried many video downloaders, including paid ones, but none come close to this one. Note that video channels may change algorithms that break the extension, but the developer is committed and faithful in his attempts to fix it and keep it working. Well done and please, please continue to give users the opportunity to download videos to watch as and when they choose.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS, it just says that it is restricted to premium users, absolute garbage.

Actual downloading seems fine, but if you try to access settings through the add-ons page or the drop down on the Youtube video download button, there's nothing, so videos download in the current default folder rather than a specified download folder for this utility, thus 4 rather than 5.

Some weeks after I gave a donation the addon did not work any more and I was asked to donate a second time which I did not.

This is a fantastic add on .... well worth the money for HD downloads :)

how to close the dialogue box after downloading the video? it also doesn't show the size of 1080p quality to download except low quality videos.
