UPDATE: 11/1/22 I have been using the extension for may years (maybe 5?). Youtube breaks it sometimes, but Dishita always gives us a workaround until it can be fixed. He also always responds promptly if I contact him. I could not be happier with Youtube video Downloader!
UPDATE: 10/11/21 Yet another Youtube update that broke my favorite extension yet again. But not the fault of Dishita, the author of the extension, who fixed it promptly, as usual; within three days it was up and working again. LOVE this extension! Makes my online life so much easier! Can't speak highly enough of Dashita and his extension. When I emailed him to let him know it was broken, he emailed back right away to let me know what was going on, that it would take a few days for his new extension to be approved, and provided a link to the beta version if I wanted to try it. (I didn't.) Then, voila, the update popped up in 2 days and it works flawlessly yet again.

UPDATE: 05/09/21: Sigh. Every time Firefox gets an update, YouTube breaks my FAVORITE all-time downloading app, Youtube Video Downloader. Fortunately, Dishita fixes it as promptly as possible, usually within a few days. As always, the delay is due to awaiting approval of the fix from Firefox. So, patience.

2019 - I have been using Easy Youtube Video Downloader for at least a year, maybe longer, and have had no problems with it. It is indeed easy to use and is my preferred downloader. I have a Windows 10 system and use Mozilla as a browser.
UPDATE: I thought I was having trouble with this extension after the recent Firefox Quantum 67.0 update and posted a question for support. Support got back to me almost immediately and worked with me to resolve my issue--which turned out not to be an issue at all! I was trying to download a vimeo video, not a youtube video. Still the best youtube downloader out there, as far as I'm concerned. ALWAYS works for me and support is terrific.

It's really easy and quick! Thank You very much for developing and sharing with us. I would recommend this.

I had a little problem with the Paypal approach in Firefox. But that one has come up and it works fine now.

Excellent piece of software, works like a charm the only criticism is that youube keep up dating and you keep donating to keep abreast but worth every penny.

Update 2021:
After 4 years of using this plug-in and paying for it, Dishita is still working hard on keeping it up to date. He works very hard and this plug-in is awesome, most of you probably use it for free then moan when YouTube break it, stop leaving him crap reviews, it's not his fault!
If you use it, pay for it, it's really cheap and ensures future development!

Guys, if you get the MP4 error JUST WAIT, he is aware if you took 30 seconds to read the main site - stop leaving crap reviews just because you expect everything to work instantly after code changes by YT, grow up and wait ffs!

The best add-on for video downloading from YouTube and many other streaming sites. Also, one of the first, if not the first, to fix downloading high-resolution content from YouTube after the lockdown. It's good to see an add-on this useful to receive active development.

On the practicalities: it's easy to use -- if you can click a button and choose a resolution in the menu that pops up, you're good to go. Several options available from the get-go, but some of the higher resolutions (or bitrates in the case of audio downloading) are locked and only available to donators (who then get the Pro Version). The Pro version actually provides good value in the effortless procurement of FullHD (and up, if available) content -- but even if you're content with 720p the Pro donation option makes sense to help out with server cost (which must be immense) and software development. A clear and convinced recommendation by me!
