por Usuario de Firefox 12154843, hace 7 añosFF 108 - STG v4.7.2.1
This addon is a replacement for the old abandoned Tab Groups.
The addon works correctly overall.
Its only remaining issues currently are:
- bookmark auto backups. They're a bit messy.. use the hourly file option instead.
- if you open a 2nd window and close the first one, then you'll have to restore from a temp backup.
Its best features for me are the groups manager panel and the quick tab search.
Btw the extension stopped receiving updates 1 year ago. Hopefully it won't break at some point...

OLD VERSIONS
FF v73.0.1 x64 - STG v4.4.25
So far, this version seems to works correctly.
However, there isn't still a "restore from bookmarks" manual button and I haven't dared to try again the "secondary window" problem mentioned below.
FF v69.01 x64 - STG v4.0.62
[..] Sadly it has various problems, like:
- if you close your main window before any secondary one, all your tabs order and pins will be lost! (bug)
- it saves backups periodically but.. it cannot restore from bookmarks! There's only an option from file.
- also, it doesn't clean old sessions.. I had to delete like 2K obsolete bookmarks still there.
- it doesn't save the setting to NOT use a folder for backups. Luckly the bookmark location is ok.
For the rest this extensions works, but it needs an update asap.

- Se valoró con 3 de 5por leetNigthshade, hace 6 díasUsed to work flawlessly, but more recently I've been running into issues (at least on Linux) where the plugin is stuck with a loading indicator and I can't access any of my tab groups.
ALSO, it randomly loses tabs in my active tab group on [re]load or something; I end up having to restore from backups. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por godjjjita, hace 25 díasSo far my experience with simple tab groups is excellent, it does what it promises and doe it well.
If I may suggest, could you add a shuffle tabs option? it would be useful to those of us that hoard tabs like a dragon but forget about them. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por jeeyu, hace un mes

This most likely because he is being affected by the WAR in Ukraine, where he lives. Hoping for his safe return to programming tools like this.
FYI, There is newer code on Git that was submitted just over a month ago. I'm trying to figiure out how to install that and test it. - Se valoró con 1 de 5por nucky, hace 2 mesesUsing this for years, have to stop now and find an alternative. Do not recommend at all
Keeps hiding random tabs from random groups every day. Then you have to manually find the hidden tabs in the firefox hidden tabs menu and reopen them only for it to randomly close a bunch again - Se valoró con 4 de 5por TT, hace 3 mesesaddon "Hide Tabs" may help you unhide all tabs after firefox update problem

Works perfectly!!!! - Se valoró con 4 de 5por Juno, hace 3 meses
- Se valoró con 3 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 19937432, hace 3 mesesWorked well until recently. Now every time you open FF after closing it, some of the tab groups are in different windows, some might be empty, and the backups just aren't there. This extension has totally lost its purpose as being able to save what you're doing through restarts.
- Se valoró con 4 de 5por EnergyMover, hace 3 mesesRestore backup no longer works with firefox May 13 2026 update! Looks like an abandoned extension. Been over a year since last updated. What a shame. It was the best of its kind!

- Se valoró con 4 de 5por antonavy, hace 4 mesesIt's really a good option for the lack of a better one... It gets the job done by hiding tabs from other "workspaces" into the hidden tabs list. Didn't notice a lot of bugs.
But a few things that really push me to use other browsers: it's not as elegant, very simple design, doesn't feel native and natural (compared to vivaldi, arc, zen, opera, etc); and two very annoying things: tab groups don't hidden, but are kinda empty, but still show previews, which brakes immersion and the fact that it spawns a directory every single day in your home folder ("STG-..."), and never cleans it up. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Ron Elicit, hace 4 mesesMy favorite browser extension, hands down. Yes, the last Firefox update broke it. Need your tabs back? Settings > Backup Your Simple Tab Groups > Enable Auto-backup (you should be doing this anyway). Then Restore Backup every time you relaunch Firefox. (I delete existing data and revert to my last save.)
That's how I'm managing until the maintainer updates this extension. (Based on their location in Ukraine, I'm willing to give them some slack.) - Se valoró con 4 de 5por CarlosTorch, hace 4 meses
- Se valoró con 1 de 5por rbx4, hace 5 mesesI don't know why anyone would use this. Does not reliably save tab groups.
- Se valoró con 1 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 14179354, hace 5 meseskeeps crashing when trying to restore backup. tab groups load but not the pages in them.
- Se valoró con 3 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 16987590, hace 5 mesesIt's okay. But your max is going to be 4 groups before tabs/browser starts to feel laggy on MacOS.
