Overall, a shady addon.

1. Addon has BSD license without source code linked.
2. It sends telemetry, unique persistent device fingerprint, device, screen, date and time, time zone, CPU, GPU, languages information when you try to send a report.
3. Contrary to its policy (coolcmd.github.io/privacy.html#tw5-en), you cannot refuse to include the data, only refuse to send the report altogether.
4. The server URL is not disclosed: r90354g8.beget.tech/tw5/report3.php
5. Chat in the extension page doesn't save theme across browser sessions.

Just found that this extension is causing me to be unable to watch Amazon Prime videos. Each video would show some message like "That shouldn't have happened." I tried a few troubleshooting steps but nothing helped. Disabling this addon made it so i can watch amazon stuff again.

Everything works flawlessly now. (as of jan 27, 2026) Only issue I have is that it auto-opens the player and doesn't revert with ?twitch5=0 when it notices that there's already one open. Oh, yeah, also pls add middle clicking support on the upper bar cuz it currently makes the UI disappear.
edit: watch streaks are no longer functional when watching through the html5 player

Can't receive twitch drops via extension. Fix pls, otherwise great extension.

Please update for 1440P streams. Also, I don't think this works anymore for twitch drops.

I decided after having issues with Twitch again today to give this addon a try. Now I remember that I've tried this addon before for Firefox and I wish I could say that I could give this more than a 1-star but it doesn't work. I've tried figuring it out to be sure it wasn't me and I checked the other reviews here, but other folks seem to have problems getting this addon to function and play a live Twitch stream. To the author of the addon, if this addon worked once before, it sadly did not work for me more than a year ago and doesn't work now.

Once good, now terrible. Can't make a simple update to view 1440p streams. Trying to open more than 1 player at the same time takes ages. God forbid you try to load a few streams at once, you might as well go read "war and peace" before they load.

Works great overall! solved some buffering issues with some of my streamers. For a feature request, I was wondering if it would be possible to add 7TV support as currently I need to use Chatterino seperately to be able to see 7TV emotes in chat. Thanks for all the hard work!

Still doesn't work on streams that are higher than 1080p and it's been like 3 months now.

dark mode setting is not saving tho

Unfortunately this extension is getting killed. First on chrome and now it doesn't work on most streamers channels. RIP Alexander you really helped hope you can come up with something new

Doesn't show followed channels, drops don't seem to work? Chat is constantly reset to light mode unless the "less features" option is selected. No option to minimize player size.

Its ok, i have issues with the chat not popping up and havin to go into task manager and force shut down if firefox and somethimes that works

Could have been great, but inexplicably changes the entire UI while watching a stream. Dark mode is only remembered with less chat features, and it recommends changing to Dark Mode via Twitch.Tv which appears to just not exist. Navigation is completely removed and is changed to an options list to click through, completely useless change. It removes all of the panels below the stream, another needless change. If this kept something at least moderately similar to the base UI of Twitch, or options to customize it, this would be great. It ruining the UI makes this nearly unusable for me unfortunately. Lastly, it didn't really even help with the stream delay. The base delay with this player was longer than when default is just buffering.
