Please add a darkmode for the chat :)

Starting about a week ago, now when ads play, it freezes instead of lowering the quality until the ad is over.

Everything works flawlessly now. (as of jan 27, 2026) Only issue I have is that it auto-opens the player and doesn't revert with ?twitch5=0 when it notices that there's already one open. Oh, yeah, also pls add middle clicking support on the upper bar cuz it currently makes the UI disappear.
edit: watch streaks are no longer functional when watching through the html5 player

pros: no ads or random pauses, instant playback, customizable/tons of options, off-load chat, pretty seamless integration.

cons: delay is longer than the default viewer, no replacement for the sidebar showing who is live/following, 2k/encrypted streams weren't working but idk if they patched it, can't get 7TV/emotes working but I could just be stupid.

alt player is good for lurking/watching but the delay & difficulty getting emotes may ruin it for active chatters. very good for clippers/editors since it has playback. im not really sure if drops/gift subs work but i assume they do if you have chat enabled.

would be 5* if it still preserved the follower list on the left

Doesn't save chat dark mode when using BTTV, otherwise works great

Instead of resolution decreasing, the screen is going black when an ad plays. Please have a look

I want to use this, but unfortunately the 7TV emote button doesn't appear for the chat. I don't know if it's possible to integrate that somehow with the installed extension? I would also prefer it not take up the entire screen :/ but thank you for the effort

Very great addon. The only bad thing is the video is in 144p while hiding ads. I don't know if it's my fault (bad configuration of the addon) or is it like so, but if it can be changed, i'll leave a 5 stars instead of 4.

I like this extension, it is good and lightweight too! I would use this extension more if it worked with the raid, but otherwise it works great!

generally very good add-on that takes away a lot of the bulk of the twitch website and makes it run smoother.

only two caveats though, my main being that you cannot use firefox's picture-in-picture function with it at all. I'm someone who very often, pops out the windows of twitch streams while doing other things, and the inability to do it with this add-on is surprising and kind of baffling to me, as i thought this would've been a somewhat high-priority function that people use a lot. the second is that you chat display settings between light mode and dark mode are not saved when you close it or go between normal twitch and the alternate player. other than that, its very good.

Very good extension, only gripe is that dark mode doesn't stay enabled when the viewer is reloaded other than that 4.5 out of 5!

The addon doent auto start. I have to press the shield icon everytime for it to work. I have tried right clicking to toggle it on/off.

Love the player however 7TV emotes are not working.
