It recently had an update that requested "IP address and host name" which, as you might expect, triggered red alarms all over for someone who came from adblock plus (the sell-out adblock) and general paranoid internet-goer. The github page on it is very clear, though, and while I could choose to continue being paranoid that they're lying about it, I would rather choose to believe them instead and continue using what is single-handedly the best adblocker out there for web browsers.
I wish there was a more clear way for them to give this information to us before they received all of these reviews, because as it stands, we just get a little pop-up asking for more privileges and that makes people nervous (with good reason; I do not feel sorry for being suspicious of strangers).
Below is a link to the page they have provided if you want to take a look at the recent update, but it all seems above board. Keep in mind they already have the information people were worried about and these privileges are not related to that. If giving away that information worries you (for me it's more like having the rug pulled out from under me that worries me; we trust Google with how much information every day? And they're definitely selling that ****), don't use an adblocker extension.

Fortunately, I have my personal laptop right there next to me, but from time to time I'll use Microsoft Edge on my work computer to browse for something and the lack of uBO is crippling. I've put it on my parents' computers years ago and they don't even know what kind of infuriating torment they're missing out on.

The moment I open a news article and see a clean, reader-friendly page instead of a carnival of flashing banners, I get this little burst of relief. It’s like someone finally turned off the noise and let me just read.
What surprises me most is how feather-light it feels—my aging laptop doesn’t heat up or lag, even with a dozen tabs open. I’ve also tamed those stubborn newsletter overlays and “before you go” pop-ups with a quick point-and-click zap, which felt oddly satisfying. Knowing I’m not being invisibly trailed around the web gives me genuine peace of mind. My mom and my sister both installed it after watching me use it, and now our family group chat has way fewer “Why is this site so broken?” meltdowns. For me, uBlock Origin isn’t just an ad blocker; it’s a little guardian that makes Firefox feel sane, respectful, and entirely mine. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 19857831, hace 4 días

Just did exactly that, deleted and Reinstalled extension, after making a backup. With none of my Settings and just the Default it is back to working again on Investing.com going to check CNN.
One of my All-time Favorite Apps! However, it notoriously has problems with CNN.com's Paywall and even More so with Investing.com like the stock Indexes or Futures Pages. I wrote the designer, and he helped me to get it working, for a Little while, then back to not working, at all. Investing.com just doesn't work at all. I may have corrupted the Settings or something idk. I have a feeling, I need to delete and Reinstall the App completely and it *May* work. Wish I could prevent it from happening, in the First Place, would be Nice. Works flawlessly, on Just about every other Site. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por sihab, hace 7 días
