I was running on Firefox v 57.0.2, then the Video Download Helper icon disappeared and I can not download any more videos. This is not good.

Aujourd'hui les développeurs ont eu une idée de "génie" : pour la version gratuite, vous êtes obligés de ré encoder la vidéo avec un hideux qr code. Résultat : la vidéo est moche, et pour pouvoir y accéder, il faut attendre la fin du ré encodage. Du coup chez moi, il faut
3 fois plus de temps pour y accéder qu'avec d'autres extensions (qui elles, ne ré encodent pas les vidéos...)

Et petite cerise sur le gâteau, ils ont du virer le designer de l'équipe: l'extension est devenue moche et bien peu intuitive.

Vous l'aurez compris, passez votre chemin, bien d'autres extensions sont devenues plus performantes

As a long-time Firefox and VDH user, I have delayed moving to the new Firefox until VDH is fully realized for quantum.

Mig - I really appreciate all your hard work to make this app work in the new Firefox. I regularly peruse the reviews and version update status to see how things are going.

One thing is clear to me -- that there is significant ILL WILL being created due to the masses finding VDH failing in the new Firefox. Reasons for failure are many, including, I suspect some amount of user failure due to having to now jump through more hoops at this stage.

Don't get frustrated. Don't fight the users, who simply want to successfully use VDH as easily as before.

My strong suggestion to you is to simply call each new version BETA. No promises made. Indicate the new challenges, etc.

Only when you are CERTAIN that a new bug-free complete package can be released should you remove the beta.

The companion app does not work and I can't find any info on why, or how to make it work. Dumping Firefox completely and will use another browser, as Firefox's continual forced updates just muck things up. Way too many problems for performance that's no longer even mediocre.

Edit: actually, seems it *does* work, but is just rather non-intuitive, so I've revised my rating.

Further edit: now installs scumware. Avoid.

In den neuen Versionen 7.0.0, 7.1.0 und 7.1.1 ist diese Software nicht mehr zu gebrauchen!

Speichern unter funktioniert nicht mehr.
Speichern mit dem Browser kann man zwar auswählen, aber die Software schert sich nicht darum.
Es wird egal was man einstellt, grundsätzlich eine eigene Routine zum herunterladen verwendet, die nichts taugt.
Es dauert ewig bis auch kleine Dateien geladen werden und bei größeren hängt sich die eigene Routine ständig auf.

Fazit: Die Software ist in den neuen Versionen nur noch Schrott.

The downloaded video, once I located the bloody thing, had a big QR code inserted in the frame for the entire length of the video. Want to get rid of it, pay for the app. Not what I signed up for thanks

Seit der Version 7.0.0 sind alle folgenden vVersionen der größte ärgerliche Mist, den Prgrammieren erzeugen können. Farbdesign -> Scheiße ohne Kontrast! Filemanagement-> nicht vorhanden, verwirrend unübersichtlich. Wie kann man ein Programm nur so verhunzen.Ob dieser Borniertheit kann man nur verzweifeln und sich nach etwas besserem umsehen..

It's good

This used to be a great way to download video but lately it updates about every day and then after the update it won't work. Weird thing is that it started doing this after Firefox's latest update, and sometimes when I first try to download it works, then it automatically updates and won't work, claiming I need to download some stupid companion app which I don't want to do because I"m afraid something else will be downloaded along with it (malware, spyware). It was great the way it was!! WHY did they have to screw it up???!!! Have they ever heard the expression "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"??? Looks like either they're just making up an excuse to try to get people to hand over money for a paid version, or Firefox really doesn't want us using this tool. Either way they're just pissing people off, and they'll quit using both the add-on AND the browser if they haven't already.

Please reverting to previous versions
