die Vorschau zeigt an .. dass sie es versucht .. aber man kann es selbst nach Stunden sehen, es tut sich gar nichts.
selbst abbrechen funktioniert nicht .. es läuft sich fest .. Browser neu starten ..
es gibt zum Glück .. Seiten, die ohne Probleme YT Videos downloaden ..
diese Version .. ist nicht hilfreich & will Geld haben .. sorry .. no way.

The claim... that you can download YouTube videos here... is incorrect.
The preview shows... that it's trying... but even after hours, you can see that nothing is happening.
Even canceling it doesn't work... it freezes... restart the browser...
Luckily, there are... sites that download YouTube videos without any problems...
This version... isn't helpful and wants money... sorry... no way.

Enshittification got to this plugin. Used to work great but now imposes a 2 hour wait between downloads unless you pay for premium.

Tried downloading videos on a set, kept saving them as MPEG, handbrake and VLC couldn't detect/play them

Sadly to ruin downloaded files with a qr-code taking up 35% of the screen. Needs to capture text-files together with video. Too expensive to purchase, a one time donation should suffice with all the ads you show.

Giving this a 2 star for previous good experience, but that's now over. Not paying a ridiculous fee dude.

Used to work really well, perfectly enough that i bought a key, but no longer sees videos on youtube. when it does its only 360p and fails to download.

Since the latest updates, my rating has dropped from 5 stars to 2.
You are now shown so many videos and variations—presumably pulled from the cache—that you have to painstakingly sift through them based solely on their duration to figure out which one you actually want to download, as they all share the exact same filename.
In previous versions—and for years prior—you could simply select fast the video directly from the currently active tab.

Warning: Enshittification continues... since v. 9.5.0.2! I had to manually downgrade it AGAIN to make it do its job in M Firefox 115!

Although it works pretty well on multiple sites it has a hidden 30$ premium version that's not mentioned anywhere until you try to download two videos in a row.

never works if the vid is rated 18+. and more, needs to pay money to download more than 6 vids.

The add-on works great, but I miss the dwhelper default folder. I absolutely want it back, preferably immediately! The current download behavior of the add-on is completely unacceptable!

I'm utterly dumbfounded on how this team wants to fix what isn't broken, ever since the update a few months back none of the UI has been right and it is now a chore to use unless you are downloading one video at a time. For example, downloads used to reserve a spot in the folder before finishing, this would help greatly with videos part of a series that save as the same name. With the old style they would auto number in order. Now its all based on which video finishes the download first. With the old version I could choose where I want my files to download to. Now it only defaults to the generic browser download folder, plus a dedicated folder if I want. Some options and things may have improved on one side but at the cost of another. I've gone back to the older version plenty but it seems it is slowly losing support and some downloads just won't operate correctly. I bought a license for VDH and was excited to do so until that update. Now I am just upset... I will gladly change this review when they actually listen to those of us who want it to work similar to how it previously has.

Functional extension, but requires a native companion app to mux HLS streams on the basis that it needs a real FFmpeg binary. ffmpeg.wasm exists and runs entirely in-browser via WebAssembly and other extensions use it for exactly this. The companion app installs a native binary with filesystem access for a problem that has a well-known sandboxed solution. Worth reconsidering due to this imo kinda of odd choice.

Yes it has smart naming, but given the 2 tier UI scheme, and buggy implementation, it's attractive on paper, and less so in usage.

new interface is a pain; results populate faster than they can be used, and the "trash can" button that used to clear results now only clears completed downloads

It seems like half the time it just gives up downloading before reaching the end of the video. They've gotten a bit stingy as well by limiting how many you can download for free. I mean it's fine to have a premium version but would have been nice to know up front. Given it's so glitchy I'm not buying it.

It works, yes. But I need to configure it well. I miss the old settings page, that old complex settings pages. I even have a backup of them. Where are them advanced settings? Did you forget us advanced users?

I've been using this application for years but after the 12\23 update, the downloader is completely broken. It will not download anything.
It will start the process and it says there is an error and the video could not be completed. Hopefully this error gets fixed asap.

Initially, it is working fine, but later it is adding QR code which is much greater in size. We have alternate add ons for video downloader.
DO NOT INSTALL IT.

For some time ive been using this, its just bad. Just get separate windows program not browser extension ( media downloader from github works better than that) If i remember correctly for most files you need to download program anyway and you dont know if your video will have paywall at some point by having huge QR code in it
