NO way to contact the author for bug reports or questions. (Try it.) NO way to configure where it actually stores the downloaded data before it’s copied to the target directory. (Can’t watch the partial download while it’s downloading, for example.) Just does the same thing yt-dlp does with a shittier dumbed-down-to-the-max interface (almost completely unconfigurable and powerless). What is even the point of this? Is this a Windows computer illiterate thing I’m too brain-using to understand?

While in the past you could choose ANY folder in your PC as download folder for this app, since a while it forces you to choose either the default Windows Downloads folder or a subfolder of it.
And contrarily to the past, it also COMPLETELY bypasses the Firefox setting to "ask every time", i.e. even if you have this option active in the Firefox settings, while you use this app there is no popup to choose where to download.
There's the option "Download as" but that too, the lazy dev didn't even noticed that there's a but that lets the download start immediately without any popup. You have to stop the download and there it opens the popup.
MENTAL!!!

For me 10001% USELESS as of now, and I VERY DEEPLY resent the dev for this. SHAME ON YOU!!!

It was one of my favorite apps until the last update. Now it's crashing almost all the time and with youtube it's just useless trying it because it's working one time every several tries. I wonder why they touch things that work to damage them.

It worked wonderfully. But then I made the mistake of purchasing the upgrade, and now, most of the videos on youtube are not even recognized by the app. If you want to keep using it, use the free version. But don't waste your money by "upgrading", you will be really disappointed.

UPDATE: I tried it again today (March 17th 2026) and wasn't able to download anything...
So it's easy to conclude it's still not working...
I checked with (2) friends in the US who bought the paid version and they tell me it's not working either as of (March 17th) today...
No way would I pay (what is it) $30 for a downloader that isn't working...

Was working before I paid for premium, now it doesn't work at all despite following all the steps to correct this.

Always says "Waiting for media..." and cannot download videos, even when you force media detection. In other words, doesn't work at all.

Ancienne très bonne extension devenue payante. Il faudrait le mentionner clairement dans le descriptif de l'extension.

Obtenu un semblant de virus à cause de cette extension.
Après avoir tenté de télécharger une vidéo sur rokfin.com/, l'extension a téléchargé très rapidement un fichier .mp4.
Sauf qu'après avoir ouvert le fichier .mp4, avec VLC, aucune vidéo ni son ne se charge. Alors après l'avoir fermé, et tenté de supprimer le fichier, un message d'erreur de ce genre est apparu : "impossible de supprimer le fichier, car il est déjà ouvert dans un fichier jmpeg.exe".
"jmpeg.exe" n'est peut-être pas le nom exact. Je me souviens juste que ça portait un nom d'image avec un .exe à la fin.
J'ai du utiliser le gestionnaire des taches pour arrêter le programme "jmpeg.exe", et ensuite supprimer mon fichier .mp4.
Pas vu d'autre symptômes de virus après avoir fait une analyse complète de mon PC par windows defender.

Used to be great but now wants me to wait 2 hours in between downloads or pay 30$. POS like the rest of these types.

2 downloads to then force you to wait 2hs for the next makes the entire purpose of an addon like this useless.

with newest update: when clearing file list, downloads are also deleted. Not acceptable at all. Obviously the author wants to sell the full version by making the free version unusable. This add-on should be deleted from the mozilla site. JDownloader 2 does the much better job for free. Available for Win and Lin. No "compagnon" app needed.
