Absolute scumbag move to hold videos hostage behind a QR code with no notice, no warning after months of use, and charge US$30 for a license.

This add-on was great until they changed it to insert a giant QR code watermark into every video downloaded. Scummy move, if this is supposed to make me want to pay to remove the watermark, you're mistaken. Uninstalled, I'll find another extension.

It's disgusting! Mozilla, how can you still support and recommend this!? I am disappointed.

Maybe it works, but as soon I click any kind of download, audio or the video as it is, it tells me I need to download an external application. Nowhere in this page tells that. What I see in the page of this add on makes me expect it to do the thing on its own. Maybe it's a good combination of extension and application, but having to find out I need that after downloading feels wrong to me.

Without warning, it became a paid service. It has a giant watermark and a very expensive license. Additionally, downloads were slow. It was already good. Now, it's terrible. Uninstalling...

Addon requires a 'co-app' download, and only then demands a rather expensive license to remove a watermark from the downloaded video. Absolutely useless addon, plenty of free websites that will work without the hoop-jumping.

It's 2024 and you cant download a video off the internet without a watermark? No. I refuse to believe this.

Don't install it from here. Find version 8.2.2.8 and install that if you want perfect videos without a QR code. Their "github community" is a lie too. There's no source code or anything whatsoever.

Started leaving a giant watermark on all videos, rendering it effectively useless now. Shame, was a good app.

Was great, not between that a lot of sites stopped working (like instagram) and that many that work just get huge opaque mark in the middle of the video it's between "bad" and "useless".

Another hour of life wasted on a promising looking extension.

After you succeed in your installation of the extension and downloading, you'll be greeted by a giant QR code in one of the corners of your downloaded video.

Following that QR code, will take you to these nice people's website, where they explain that you need to pay about thirty dollars to be able to use this extension.

They patiently explain: "You may have noticed a sign at the corner of the videos after they have been processed by the converter. This is related to the fact the conversion feature has not been registered in the add-on.We apologize for the inconvenience, but Video DownloadHelper needs to be funded"

It'd be nice to know it before spending an hour trying to make it work.

BEWARE you have to download a standalone app for it to work but then the downloaded video would have a giant QR code watermarked on it leading to a subscription or payment of some kind to remove the watermark. what an utter waste of time.

had to create a mozilla account just so i can rate this 1 star. if i could i would give this a zero.

Used this for many years, but the new watermark wrecks it. Good luck with that!

Newest update broke the extension, can't complete downloads

Ruim, só existe a versão paga, os vídeos ficam com QR Code e publicidade sobre o download, é completamente inviável usar. Procurem outra opção.

From now on you have to pay US28 for a license, otherwise all your videos are downloaded with a gigantic QR that covers 1/3 of the video.

Great job on ruining a plugin.

Not only the video is damaged with qr code, which by the way is precised when you read carefully the application note.
But the sound is damaged too, it sounds like being decoded and re-encoded, and this is not precised anywhere.
This happens whatever download quality being chosen.
This extension is really useless.
